8/19-- hand from absolute poker last night

havent played on here for ages, but i did last night.  hand wasnt really interesting, but i dont know what this guy was thinking.

 

blinds were 10 20 in a satellite tourney, everyone starts at 1500 chips, 2nd level had just started.  guy with like 5000 chips min raises under the gun, 5 ppl call, i have aa in the big blind, im at around 2000 chips, i make it 250 b/c i figure the big stack to call and everyone else to fold. he calls, so does the small blind.  flop was j103 rainbow, small blind checks i bet 600 utg folds, small blind says i guess acejack is no good and folds.  now the question is why would this guy call preflop,he only has 1500 chips and hes folding on this board?  he shouldnt have even called preflop probably, i woulda folded for the 210 more for sure.  so i asked him why even call then if youre not even putting anything more in on that flop?  he says well im committed to see the flop.  not even close really, he only had like 1400 left and put more then 1/7th of it in.  this just dont make any sense to me.

 

 

as a side note to this i played in one of there points tournaments got into this tournament, it was a satellite for there sunday big tournament, but i forgot i couldnt play sunday because i have a big tournament at mountaineer this weekend, so i just stacked off and took 3rd place which was the remiander payout, since they didnt have enough for another seat.  this site is pretty crappy, they wont let you change seats or anything apparently.

yeah but when the flop comes JJx and he double ups through us because no way he can call that pre-flop raise with anything that can beat us (except for JJ, and if he hit JJJJ nothing we can do)

 

97% of poker players get all steamed....crying about a bad beat....

 

 

people forget that most of the time you win money or T-chips vs. these type of players

if he laid ace-jack down he is a world class donkey....

 

 

i know people who say stuff like that all the time....to be honest it sounds like he was set-mining....probably called with a middle pocket pair and when he missed he just told you he had AJ to sound like he is making this great read and laydown

weathered normally i would agree with you but you should have seen some of these hands this guy had and how tight he was playing.  the shit he was saying was ridiculous too.  some guy had ak in the big blind and the button raised and he shoved and button folded and he said some wise ass comment about going all in with ace high.  he was pretty much a moron but he was playing super super tight.  he got blinded out of course too.  normally i would agree that he was lying and no way had aj but this guy just mighta had it, still dont explain the flop fold.
