Sounds like a strategy he would employ. He may actually have to pay his attorneys to do so though. You know he hates paying for anything, especially legal services. Not sure attorneys will play that $hit with him being out of office. I think he flees as the heat comes. 

When Trump leaves office, he would be under the biggest cloud of corruption and scandal of any president in decades.  He has hidden evidences of crimes for years.  Although Biden doesn't believe in political retaliation, he can expose Trump's crimes just by restoring normal practices in government according to watchdog group Citizens for ethics in Washington.  He could allow the release of documents suppressed by the least transparent administration in modern history.  There are already areas where prosecutors could indict once Trump lose protection from presidency.

Trump's supporters are a group of aggrieved white, mostly men who are upset because they feel themselves becoming less and less relevant in this age of rapidly advancing technologies, evolving demographics, climate change, global cooperation, geopolitical and economic shifts.

They're terrified that they'll be treated the same way they've been treating people of color, women, LGBTQ folks and other marginalized people for centuries.
