I'm not saying I do not have some culpability but I do know that Midnight1 attacked me in another unprovoked manner and used profanity to do so.

So, why is only one of us in the boxed if using Wallstreet standards?  But for Midnight1's actions, nothing would have escalated.  

You called out his momma and that was unwarrented. Fight fire with fire is my advice.

And don't ever expect equal treatment, it's their sandbox your playing in.

WSC's "standards" are solely based, or at least skewed, by political lean.

With that said, I consider a Minight to be an actual friend and brother. If you insulted his mother, I would have "words" for you if ever chanced to meet in person. I don't know the context but if this is true, you can eat a dick.

That was an attack on his mother, and on him. And on a site like this one, where i'm one of the few who are under 50, you have to assume there is at least a possibility that a person's mother is deceased.

It has become clear to me that while a statistical powerhouse, covers as a forum isn't the place for me in it's current state.

The failure to identify the difference between a "your mom" joke and calling out someone's mom baffles but is unsurprising.  Especially in an instance where Midnight1 instigated.

For the record had i actually called his mom out it would have been geared more towards her giving blowies to every guy on the block to pay for Midnight1's baby formula cause hers was constantly tainted from all the crack and alcohol.  

But in the imagined scenario I gave her a job and promotion and noted her dedication to raising a crack addicted son.

So understanding that its made up internet land and insults either real or imagined shouldn't be given much weight I wish you all well.

 Exactly my point.  As per the letter of the law here on covers "personal attacks on other members are not tolerated".  Except of course they are and were in this case.

Until Midnight1's insult was piggy backed to include a wildly unrealistic situation and within 10 minutes here we are.

Are we talking about my adoptive mother or birth mother?  You're not too far off as my birthmother was 19 and raped by a 27 year old.  As her mother was strictly Catholic, I was given up at birth in a closed NY adoption.  You'll be sorry to hear my adoptive mother.....and father were wonderful but we lost them both to cancer within the last year (7 months apart). 

In a positive note my birth mother reached out to the adoption agency, as did I, and agreed to leave identifying information and we have a good relationship presently.  Also have a sister who's a non profit attorney in NYC and to this day my birth day hasn't sent a card but I dont seem to mind.

I think that is a stretch and someone would have to want to see it that way just to make it an issue.

To me it is akin to calling someone a ‘momma’s boy’.  That is an attack on the guy you are calling that; not an attack on his mother.  

If someone wanted to attack a person’s mother they would use much stronger language and a direct attack, where you did not have to purposefully interpret it that way.  
Otherwise, you have to determine ‘intent’.  When it is a direct attack on someone else you do not have to make that determination and every once clearly would see it for that.  

But either way, whether someone wanted to jump to that conclusion or not, that was very mild compared to the language and tone that started it.  
Especially, as you say, these folks seem older and should not even have to use that tone or language to get their point across.  But age should not even matter.  A ‘mother’ should have taught them all — ‘sticks and stones’…
So, why even get upset and reply back to it that way.  Just silly.

To me when someone has to start using foul language and personal attacks — they either do not have a good argument, or are frustrated and simply have lost the argument.  

Either way it is silly to do either. 
But it is silly to ‘penalize’ someone for a ‘milder’ reply on a political forum.  

What is the old retort to the standard personal pejorative?  “Well, if you kept your mother out of the streets…”  They only use that retort because they want to turn it into an attack on the other person’s mother; but know that person was not really attacking their mother, but simply calling them a foul name.

But people are oversly sensitive about politics and especially here.

Also, another point about the older people on here, it seems they certainly get more of a ‘pass’.  
Look directly on 4-5 of what certainly seems some of the older fellows and those nasty tone and language.  I would expect better from the older generation, no matter their politics.

But I do see how you can see it the way you see it.

65-85% of content here is cheeky little digs and banter.  On Sunday evenings with the influx of alcohol and bad beats it often turns vile but even then blows over.

The politics forum seems it's own beast and moderated with a hair bumpstock.  But again they're words on a page from strangers.

Oh, I forgot.  You cuck label is accurate but the journey is not remotely close to your description.  It was more evolutionary born out of living the lifestyle.  

Longer, more complicated, story but worth the read.  Based on our limited interactions, I would offer that you're probably too insecure for much of it and probably better to stay on the sidelines and throw stones.  Talk about projection.

What, do they not sell Pappy where you live? You play these childish games. You dance around with your, if I wanted to insult his mother... blowies for formula, etc. It shows you're a bitch, just like your mom's a bitch. I've said things on this site I haven't been proud of. Things I thought were warranted. And I have made amend when wrong. This is a small community, which means it's different than the typical "social media experience". You aren't shouting expletives into cyberspace. Attacks feel more personal. And "friends" feel more like friends. Midnight is my friend. So please, pretty please, take it personally when I say, Eat a dick like your mother used to. Your adoptive mother. Probably the biological too.

The adoption thing explains so much actually. No amount of love from your adoptive parents fixes you guys.

Trust me, (I am sure you already know this) but this site has relatively mild forums, comparatively speaking. 
I am on some others that are far worse.  
Even some of the investment forums that you would not think of being this way are worse.

Religion and politics are always the worst.  It is far more productive not to get into that back-and-forth when it deteriorates that way.  
There are places where an actual discussion can be had about polar opposite views.  
But that is basically because both parties will at least be informed about the issue and are there about that overall broad topic.

You have to always keep in mind most folks are on this site about sports in the beginning.  Their knowledge about other subjects is generally very superficial—even with sports a lot of the time.

That is why, even with sports, when folks are presented with statistics or facts that counter their view, they get frustrated.

In sports, you can always simply have an opinion that Montana is better than Brady, or that Marino was better than both.  No amount of data will sway you from it, and shouldn’t — you are simply a fan.

So, the same mindset is used when discussing other topics on here:  people get frustrated with counter arguments that use evidence and do not have anything substantive to respond with.  Therefore, they respond with snarky replies or personal attacks or change the subject.

So, I think on here you have to just have a general overview talk on subjects and go elsewhere for a true in-depth conversation.  Sadly, this even includes sports sometimes.

But to me this is far and away the best sports forum and should be seen as that and the rest used as just an entertainment source almost.
