Here are my stage 8 plays....


Thomas Voekler  +1500   $7 to win $105

Nairo Quintana  +1600   $7 to win $112

Thibaut Pinot  +2500   $5  to win $125 


Just a note about these 3 guys... I think at least one of these guys if not 2 of them will win a mountain stage so I will continue to bet them along with some others too.

I think the value is pretty good on Contador at +800 but I don't like taking guys like Froome and Contador this early in mountain stages. Favorites for the GC rarely go for it this early. I would wait till the Alps.

Also betting one match-up...

LOL, I didn't even watch the last two stages. Had no idea he had a broken rib. Line makes more sense now. How did this happen? To late to change.

Stage 1 in that crash right before the finish. It was diagnosed a couple days later as a cracked rib.

Never understood this wait mentality. If you want to win, it seems to me getting an early lead is a good way to start. All it takes is one GC threat to go for it and all of them have to follow.

Ya I know what you mean. I guess they're just feeling each other out. They could throw some surprises but usually the main guys wait a little. Who knows.. we'll see!

Oh, if it's from Stage 1 then yes I knew about a slight injury but hadn't heard cracked rib. Either way I think he can still beat Schleck and I only put $10 on the Stage win cause I would be pissed if I didn't and he won.

Yeah Im staying in la clusaz not far from le grand-bornand. Ill be making my way to the finish line from there, so keep ya eye out for a crazy kiwi waving the nz flag....should be easy to spot.

I know I've gone with a double with Bartoli and Froome but I rate Bartoli in the Wimbledon final and if sky want to this is a Froome stage.

Good luck with your picks guys! I'll be really surprised if Froome wins this stage but I'll tip my hat to both of you if he does.

Approaching the first climb with just under 100km to go... I'm throwing a couple dollars on two of the guys in the breakaway that I think actually have a shot.

Christophe Riblon  +1800   $2.50  to win $50

Johnny Hoogerland  +1800   $2.50  to win $50


Riblon has won a mountain stage before at the Tour de France back in 2010. And Hoogerland is an agressive rider in the mountains.

I was very wrong today about Froome and not only that but Richie Porte in 2nd! The tour was basically won today. Neither what I expected or wanted.

Win with Froome but lose both matches. Can all but call my remaining Tour futures all losers as well but won't do that just yet. Still two weeks to go but hard to imagine a scenario where Froome doesn't take yellow from here to Paris.
