No wiggins due to injury (knee if I'm not mistaken).. Pretty sure he has ridden his last tour..
I cant really see anyone else winning unless there are crashes, withdrawals etc..
Schleck is wayyy out of form.. Maybe Top3? I dunno
Cavendish to win stage1 @ $1.85 looks good.. He has said he is determined to win stage1 so he can wear the yellow jersey..

Love the tour.....I won't play a tour winner yet. But love betting stages.
Cav is a short $1.85 to win stage 1.
He loves thes stages and has showcased this many times over the pass few years.
However. I'm taking a punt on Andre Greipel. With odds $4.50-$5 is worth a shot for sure. He rides for team lotto with perhaps the best leadmen in Henderson, last year ther was one stage which they rode as a team with pure class that looked so good that even the commentators commented on just how good this team could be.
Cav is no stranger to being left high and dry by team mates in the past however he manages to shadow riders and sprint out at the perfect time. If however team lotto are riding with this pure class again, the value is with Andre for sure .
Risk $100......Return $450.

Yeah that whole finish was messed up...very poor start from the organisers....puts a lot of stress on the riders....forces a few to move out of turn...anyhow well done kittle.
On to the next.....great stage for Sagan here, will comfortably back him here tonight.....will research after work and post later my play

These climbs may cause a few issues for the pure sprinters, but there is enough time for the stronger teams to set there sprinters up especially if they get them over the final climb with the main bunch.
If Sagan wants the green overall and the yellow for stage 4 he will surely put the pressure on in this one.
The little hill sprint at the end will favour Sagan here to.

Both stage 3 picks are definitely on my reader. I really like the value here on hesjedal.
I didn't see yesterday's stage but I red enough to make a gut decision to go large on the fav again.
Sagan to win
Risk:$200. Return:$550
He needs this more than ever if he wants that yellow for the Ttt I think it won't happen but there are green points on offer to. Cannondale just need to get behind him and not give up to soon.
If this doesn't hit my wagers will come down, I have an $850 budget for the tour and am already $300 down

I was wondering if anyone would have a TDF thread started... Glad to see you are following Clepto. Love it myself as well. I've got futures on Froome, Contador, Hesjedal and Van Garderen. As for stage betting, I haven't placed any the first few days and I'm sure glad about that. 3 stages, 3 surprise winners! I won't be betting tomorrow either. I think there are 4 or 5 teams that can win the TTT and it should be very interesting and close in the end. By the way, does anyone know how it works if let's say Garmin-Sharp win tomorrow, there are 6 riders on the team all at +1 second... Who takes the yellow jersey??? Does the team just pick their main guy?
Anyway, I'm glad to see someone started a thread for this amazing race and if I ever have any stage plays or comments about it, I will just post them in here instead of starting my own (if you don't mind).

Welcome zephyr....join in the fun.
I feel the past few days have robbed me losing so close on large bets, not too worry.
TTT are always tricky and a few strong teams can win this today, very flat very fast, garmin look good omega too true value lies with the greenedge crew at a solid $21 dollars.
If I was up I'd take a punt on an outsider however as the odds state I only see 2 teams in this. Omega look great but did chavanel use up a lil too much yesterday and how are martin and cav feeling.
Garmin Sharp is the play for me....they come in more healthier and behind millar should be able to get across with the fastest time and get that yellow for millar to.
