Based on this season's games i would say wrong team favoured. Given the Pulse have never won a game after fifteen of them it is hard to make them favourite.
Hard to make too many conclusions after two games, but to me it appears the pulse are only a couple goals off the four other teams in the bottom half. I rate them fractionally ahead of the Mystics.
Pulse v Firebirds over 98.5 2u
Thunderbirds v Vixens under 99.5 1u

mediocre run. could have done with one less goal from the Tactix yesterday.
Magic -2 3u
Swifts did magic 3-0 last season but there are a lot of things i like about the magic here:
- IMO Magic lineup is a bit stronger this season, while the swifts is a little weaker
- schedule, Magic playing a second home game, while Swifts a second road game. also Thunderbirds were very flat yesterday and one explanation is that the tough game v swifts last round took alot out of them, swifts may also be tired
- revenge for GF last season, plus as title favourite Magic need to show something
Magic v Swifts over 103.5 1u
Originally was thinking under here but switched to over. Scores in the semi final and final last season were 113 and 121, last season has been a reasonable indicator. Think it might be lower scoring but there is a fai bit of room.

Fever results don't look impressive but in both games they have had a 7 goal quarter. Against Vixens it was a 7 to 20 quarter which was the difference in the final score, they won one of the other quarters by two tied one and lost one by two. They fell away in the last quarter versus Tactix. Apart from these lapses there play doesn't seem too far off the top 4.
Prior to the round i ranked the Mystics below the Pulse. The Pulse stunk and their main shooter continues to hide behind the defender making it near impossible to get her the ball. I now consider the Pulse the worst team, but the Mystics aren't much better.
Fever won their two home games against NZ opponents last season, beating the Tactix by 6 and the Pulse by 25. I think they will handle the Mystics.
Fever -3 1u & -2.5 $1.85 1u
