The KHL's opening day is Wednesday, and a Finnish reporter wrote that the game between Salavat Yulaev and Atlas was stopped and then postponed when the news broke. There was a moment of silence in the arena before fans and players left the rink.

WOW!!! both Pavol Demitra and Rusty Salei. Demitra was a personal offensive fav. VERY dynamiac forward and I'm suprised he wasn't still playing in the NHL.
I remember when Rusty played for the old IHL Thunder here in Las Vegas. he was heavily scouted by then Kings coach Larry Robinson back in 1996 (met him at some Thunder games) and was drafted by the Ducks. excellent defensive D-man in the mold of Vlad Konstantinov.
