This will be my last post on this topic. The house made a mistake, pay up! It's definitely not stealing. You could make a case for a blackjack dealer paying a losing/tying hand being unfair. But in this instance the house posted a line and that's a CONTRACT. I don't care how big or obvious the mistake was.

OP should contact sbr and chargeback his CC for all he can.

I heard a story (i forget who posted it, and it couldve been with 5dimes, but not 100%)  but someone got a bad F5 on cinci when they played san diego.  Line was -120 and they said it was supposed to -140 and after the wager won the book cancelled the bet saying the line was incorrect, pushing all the cinci F5 money, but HIGHLY doubting they refunded all the san diego F5 money (if the line was wrong on cinci, the line was obviously wrong on san deigo, but it wouldve lost anyway).    I thought that was rough and a massive scam for 20 points. To have them literally cancel and take all pending wagers, along with all the money in your account, not giving you access to it, completely shutting you out, is beyond a massive dirty rotten scam.  Tony does not seem like he is the kind of guy with the power he has, who should be in full control of anybody's money without any accountability.     I havent heard anything so sickening.  As previously said by other posters, get this out to every forum, every bettor with a book at 5dimes.... This is a f*ckin joke. Best of luck  though man getting your money

but seriously why is everyone talking about this 50 bucks....the orignal wager was 900 that i lost (though i understand that's fair) but an additional 50...and then to steal 8 thousand dollars, give me a fuckin break....

Your crazy to keep 8g in an account  with any of these books ,  in 2006 millenium a solid sports book at the time was shut down  lucky i had nothing in my account at the time but my  friend lost a few g

these are not banks, its not legal,  there is no recourse .and the people running them know this  so they can do what they want , if you had been on a losing streak instead your account wouldn't have been suspended .

    Alcar,

I've had a 5dimes account for about 8 years now. I've cashed out with no problems before, as well as others that I know.

That is why I was shocked to hear this. I had no idea 5dimes or an A+ rated sportsbook was treating their customers like this.

At least we know now....NEVER REPORT THEIR ERRORS TO THEM! As they obviously don't appreciate it too much!

You should be fine with them, as long as you don't piss Tony off.....lol

Also, I'd be weary to even BET one of those mistake lines again after this, even if you DIDN'T report it, they might still try to get you for being "dishonest" as I think the owner believes that all of us betting on that site can easily spot a fake line.

Just to confirm- (as I don't remember all the details and don't feel like reading all of that again)

So you had EIGHT GRAND in your account? And then it was negative 50? But you only bet $900 on the false line? So, the entire other 7,100.00 was already used on other pending bets?

Was just curious to know that because normally one would have to have some kind of balls to risk their entire 8 grand bankroll in one day.

From what I've been hearing on some of these conspiracy sites, you'd be crazy to even put your money in a REAL LEGAL BANK, as supposedly the "Illuminati" or "Cabal" is running these banks and in control of everything, and they would like to close all banks and ATMS permanently as to start Martial Law and then introduce a new world currency, as part of the New World Order.

Would not surprise me at all if this happened....although I hope it doesn't. lol

I actually believe there's a law called "taking".  It's not the same as stealing, as you did not "steal" the property. I'm pretty sure I heard some case like this with a bank misappropriating funds accidentally and a retail client account of the bank got a massive deposit. The idiot (who without a doubt knew this money didn't belong to him) thought it was free money and went and blew a ton of it in hours.  The bank in a day or 2 noticed what happened and demanded their money back... The bank won in court.
A massive difference between that and this, is that buddy seemed to have spoken with 5dimes and they gave him the green light everything was dandy at those odds...
From 5dimes point of view though, they got taken for a massive ride on free money, and those amounts that he was betting after, would not have been anywhere near the amounts he would've been betting if he was paid the correct odds originally.

Well you'd figure 8k would be pennies for 5dimes as well? I was thinking to myself "I just can't believe how greedy some of these casinos are" I mean, they've got millions (or billions, I have no idea honestly how much money these casinos horde) and they are worried about some bettor who found a bad line and made $1000?

Unbelievable, especially these 5dimes stories. But I will know in the future to be very careful with them...so I appreciate you putting this out there. I always thought 5dimes was 100% legit.

But I think it's strange you would tell your bookie that you took him for 8k. Even though "He let you keep it" I think that sounds a bit funny to say to him "Hey there, did you know I got ya for 8k a few months back on some bad lines?" lol

Your story  is nuts ,you deserve to get the money taken out of your account .,you 1st new it was a bad line  2nd you frigin told them ,of course shes gonna tell you they wont ,she didn't want to hear you complain after telling on yourself .3rd of all your playing poker on 5 dimes ?? dude get a grip Theres5 games going on live in a mile radius of where you live ,and if you want to play online go somewhere repuatable even WPT where I play is honest  not like the fixed tornys on 5 dimes or Bet U or even where I bet online Wager 123 I would never trust online poker on these sites  are you crazy???

U live in NY  why are you dealing with these 5 dime ripoff books that charge you for deposits charge you for withdrawal,, need your credit card bank info ect..I don't get it ... There are plenty of good locals  .Im in my 50s have dealt with 2 guys my whole life. And if my original guy wasn't such a old timer and would get down online it would be 1. All these stories of locals beating people ,usually stem from guys being to young to know whos legit and  go with someone in collage or a friend who knows someone at work ,There not real bookies but someone taking a shot with a few guys  and when they get hit for 10 large they disappear. Time to grow up brother

Wow....I'm surprised at how many people here think that the OP deserved what happened to him. We all agreed that he shouldn't of said anything, that is more than obvious now. But to say he "Stole" the money is hypocritical by the casino itself (If finding a legal way to make guaranteed money at casino is considered "Stealing" then the casinos are "stealing" your money just the same, as they are guaranteed to profit from their customers. It's no different IMO.

So to say that he "Deserved" what happened to him is just plain wrong. All he did was take advantage of a bad line. Who wouldn't? I know I reported them when I saw them but that was only because I thought they might send me some money and I also knew that if I bet on it, they wouldn't pay me. That was obvious.

But this Tony guy at 5dimes calls it stealing to bet legally on a line that THEY put up? So, that would also mean that he would consider you a Theif, if you had a good system that worked 100%, or if you were simply a winner, I guess that is not allowed at casinos.

Vegas does the same crap, although not as blatent as this, because they want to at least "act" right here. But yeah, casinos are above the law, no doubt about it.

Best of Luck to everyone in the future in your online gambling ventures. Hopefully people will learn from this, as it seems "bad lines" are more common than they should be. Why doesnt 5dimes just have their employees double check when making the lines and it would prevent this from happening?

Just a note also wanted to add that when I first found that bad line that I reported, this was like 7 years ago (long time ago) and I had never seen or heard of any mistakes like that before. I always trusted the casinos would be 100% accurate with something as important as this, and with as much money that goes down on these games. Why can't they get it right? It simply takes someone to double check before they post it. Maybe they don't have time? lol I just thought when I found the bad line that it was SERIOUS and that they would be very appreciative of me reporting that huge error. (The exact error I found was that BOTH Sides of the same game had UNDERDOG Payout, so if you bet both you were guaranteed profit) that is of course, if 5dimes would honor the bet, and now we KNOW they would never do that, unless they didn't catch it...

But I went to that link that was provided with the 32k horror story, and it looks like they go back and check months, or they keep a history of it, and they wait and get you, at an opportune time, right when your bankroll gets up. They probably pocket all of that money too I bet, or what would be the point? If they owned the casino it would be their money anyway?

I am wondering now, what would happen if someone hit a 500k parlay for a $1 bet. (This could happen) Would they even honor it? I highly doubt it now after reading these stories. 500k is like 10 million dollars to them and if they can get away with cheating people, it seems they take advantage of their opportunities to do so

Of course I'm sure they also like to have an excuse that makes them feel better, such as "The Player is cheating and Stealing from us!" but in reality, they know very well they are the ones who are doing all the cheating.

Ahhhh Duh....I see now, they wait and ban you once they see YOURE WINNING. They never liked winners. They probably only let you stay up until that point, because they thought, and hoped you would lose all of your money back and then some.

All the stories I have read so far about this Tony guy going off on people have had a couple things in common.

    1. Seems it was all with people betting bad lines. Yes casinos aren't perfect but if you bet a bad line you should know your play will be voided. If you keep looking for bad lines and constantly betting them I'm sure the book will just say F U

    2. Some of the people were betting games that had already started. Some international games had been moved up and they didn't get a chance to switch it in the computer. If you place a bet on a game that is in progress well then 1 you are an idiot and 2 dont be a dickk

    3. People creating multiple accounts trying to break limits. There is a reason they set likitsm if they find out you created 3 or 4 accounts dont you think they will get pissed?

    Anyways that is all

Lol 5dimes is awful, signed up and deposited with them, lost my deposit so I tried to make another deposit but this time they didn't accept my cc (the same one). Spoke to someone on the phone she said it doesn't work with their processor even tho it had a few days before, basically said I was sh.it out of luck, I try logging back in and my account no longer existed.

for as much sh.it as people talk on bovada. They are the absolute best. Customer service is amazing and their payouts are legit too. I'll take a little higher line for a great site layout and A+ customer service

SportsFan9698 - your a douchebag dude...."I have a gun and I know where they live.  I let it go".

    ....................lol cool dude

"tony" - you seem like a scum owner

Yes the guy melo is stupid for telling them about the line and expecting to keep his money but "tony" handled this terribly esp for being the owner... In business the customer is "always right" obviously they always aren't but you do what you can as a owner or employee to ensure a customer feels the transaction or any thing business related wise was handled fairly and both parties walk away feeling justified... which was clearly not done in this situation ...I will be informing any and all people I know of this and will STRONGLY suggest to the betting community to avoid 5dimes....
