Americans spend $2 billion a year on their pets ... many folks would rather spend their last $10.00 on a bag of dog food then spend it on themselves. Michael Vick is just a "point spread" much like any other athlete -- if he isn't playing to cover the spread someone else will handle the ball !!! If any NFL team picks him up they will regret they ever did !!!!!!!!

For starters, this thread makes me question the merits of free speech.
Secondly, disucussion of the holocaust and slavery, to me, don't really compare here. (Neither do any derogatory phrases).
Most importantly I feel NO ONE has touched on the main point. Vick is an AVERAGE QB AT BEST!!!!!
38-28-1 71TD/52 INT sacked 187.
Playoff Record 2-2 3TD/3Int
Those aren't bad numbers, but not great either. Hundreds of other qb's have similar career numbers. If I was an NFL general manager my thought would be why take the PR hit when there is a ton of other guys that can put up similar numbers and are turning 23 and not 29?
He was very flashy, and had a few plays every year that wowed us all, but if you move past the flair, you find an average QB.

I see your still arguing with these guys huh Sam?? I just cant do it anymore....Whats funny is noone in this whole thread has hit on the real problem. He has been in dog fights since 8. 8 years old??? This is something that was around 8 year old kids. Does anyone see a problem with that? How about law inforcement acctually do there jobs and stop this in the communities that this happens in and stop betting on the fights themselves. ( If you think for a second that cops and sheriffs dont bet on these dog fights you fooling yourselfs). And even though this is an outrages crime, to try to compare to ANY crime on a animal to a crime a human comites to another human is just as outrages. There was a stat put up that said 2 billion dollars got spent on pets last year in the states. There are 90k homeless people in LA county alone. Can you imagine what kind of human lives that money could have helped if people werent upsest with pets in this country. It is a fkn shame that people would treat there pet better then another human being, even if it was a stranger.

I was being sarcastic to ignorant fools. I simply probing the point that what Vick did isnt really that horrible in the big picture we call life. Many have done FAR worse things and will continue to do so until the end of time.
Let me ask you this and I will leave it alone. If you had a choice between someone raping your mom or sister or girlfriend , or killing 1000 pitbulls with a hammer, what would you choose? You would have those dogs lined up and be a hammering s.o.b ......

I was making the point that if you think about it, killing dogs is way down on peoples lists of things that they wouldnt want to happen....

That's a terrible comparison! Chris Paul needs to pass to be a good pg. Flair doesn't nessecarily mean you do something well, it means you do it colorfully. Maybe I worded it poorly, I guess what i am getting at is that many guys like say Jim Harbaugh have similar numbers, he just didn't do it with flair.
Is it your argument that Vick is a top tier QB? The stats don't agree. Chris Pauls stats show he is a great pg. If Vick was such a great talent he'd be in a camp now. There are plenty of owners that have drug addicts, rapists, wife beaters and guys with manslaughter and/or homicide convictions. If a guy has enough talent they will take the chance on him.
Note my argument has nothing to do with the ethical/moral implacations of Vick's crimes. My feeling is that he's not worth the risk on the basis of the combination of having average qb skills in his prime, and missing two years of live football.
