I feel the same way about the Giants and Cardinals. SD will turn things around... If LT can stay healthy. Pitt will probably be in the Super Bowl and Buffalo could/should challenge the Pats in the AFC East.

Pitt-  Bluesplayer listen up... I really like your team.  Your offensive line is outstanding.  Ben is Ben, and parker and Holmes are very solid.. The defense is terrific!  Barring major injuries, this is your AFC superbowl representitive.

 one thing i can say about capping the steelers.....i know them.
i went with the under 43. and pitt - 6... if romeo goes for it like a normal guy would they probubly fail and the steelers cover...but he kicks a field goal.. i was so pissed...then the steelers drive into field goal range only to kill clock....pissed agian..

lesson learned though. take advantage of the weather..
that under was easy money. and the cincy / tenn under was as well.both games in that horrible wind and i only played 1 an added a spread loser to it.never agian...i could of  put my whole account on the under an won without any stress whatsoever. im lookin at weather 1st from now on. bad weather = under. screw tough point spread calls when you can use mother nature..live and learn.
and like you said...barring injuries this team has a shot at another ring...

It's not just Saturday, the entire line is banged up. When Ugoh went down yesterday, Ryan Diem was the only regular starter that was on the line I believe. You can't expect Manning and/or Addai to get in a rhythm behind that as a whole.

Pretty impressive that they came down from 15-0 to win that game. Watching the game, Minnesota should have been up by way more than that though. Their offensive playcalling was terrible at times. Indy can't stop the run at all and Minnesota starts trying a bunch of dumb stuff

...i've decided that i know a little more than i think, as i thought too much last week and played Cincinnati at the P because i expected a good bounce back. The winds may have been an issue, but i'm gonna ignore that and just say they suck.

...i'm 0-5-1 to start the season, so i'm thinking i may just sit out until i can fade west coast teams traveling east and playing early starts. That seems like a good trend that works well, and I'm certainly not going to force plays right now because i can't do anything right right now.

2 things - 1. We're still in the early phase where people are playing based on previous results and the lines aren't compensating. There is value to be had on these solid up and coming teams. 2. I liked Denver and Atlanta so much last night at -4 that I already played them.


DEN - I think Denver is one of those up and coming teams. The offense really is this good. A very good San Diego secondary and pass rush couldn't stop Cutler and this passing game, can someone please explain how are the Saints not gonna give up 400+ yards and 40+ points? Colston is a big loss for the Saints and Champ Bailey should shut down Patten/Henderson (whoever is #1) and that leaves very little else for Brees. Bush has to be massive or they need some special teams/defensive points to keep this close.

ATL - KC is just god awful and it's apparent that they have quit on Herm Edwards, the vets look like they just want to show up and get their pay check. Matt Ryan got his taste of a real NFL defense last week and at home this week he will hand it off to Turner and Norwood and the Falcons will run wild on a very young and inexpierienced KC rush defense. Nobody look now but this Falcons defense is playing pretty well and should have no problem shutting down an atrocious KC offense.

CAR - Agree with everything you said. I couldn't be more down on Tarvaris Jackson, the guy just isn't good enough. I think this will be an up and down game throughout and if it's tied or close late it's almost a sure Carolina cover. Everyone thinks the Vikings defensive line is great (which it is) but the two giants, Kevin and Pat Williams in the middle really wore down late in the Colt game and there was hardly any pressure from them coming from the middle and collapsing the pocket late in the game last week when Peyton Manning had just a few extra split seconds each play without the pocket collasping in front of him to pick apart this secondary. This factor really went under the radar in light of what happened last week. If the same happens this week and Delhomme has a few extra seconds driving late in the 4th I think he should be able to do some damage. The Panthers have a killer instinct and you have to love that when you bet on a team getting points in what you know will be a close game. Vikes could be in a letdown too after thier home collapse last week. Might wait it out and hope to get +4 just in case. ML play for me as well.

TEN - I LOVE this team and especially with Collins under center. I don't like the fact that Houston didn't play last week but they could be a bit out of it with what happened in houston last week. The Texans have some excellent players but once you look past them, the rest of the team drops off significantly in terms of overall talent. I think they're a bit overrated as a whole because of the big names and stars on top grabbing the attention making the overall team appear better then it really is. The only thing I don't like is having to lay 5. I like the Titans as 3 or smaller favs and dogs, they're not a team you want to lay more than a FG with because they don't have the explosive passing attack that can put points on the board. But overall I love Tennessee. They'll probably be 6-0 heading into their Monday Night home game against the Colts and I might on them every week until then. Might wait and see if the line drops but any indication it goes up and I'll grab the 5.

ARZ - If I were to flipflop on one of my early leans this would be it. I think Arizona is one of those up and coming teams that are actually better than people think. It's hard for most people to tell and I already see people saying "ahhhh they beat the Niners and Dolphins", yes that's true and yes those teams suck but facing those teams hides the fact that the Cards are actually pretty good as they haven't beaten anybody good yet and had their lines inflated. In other words, there's value on them. I don't know what it is but it's a gut feel here saying the Cards could win SU. I think WSH laying only 3 at home against a West Coast team in a 1:00 game is saying a heck of a lot.

i like Atlanta as well, but i hate to be fading a team that has obvious problems in KC...seems awfully joe public to me, but the NFL has turned that way somehow

Couple things on the bears:

I see a couple people have strong leans on the bears.  I think I am leaning toward TB.

The reasons for that are, I think that this coaching staff is not very bright.  When you give them 6 months they can put together a good game-plan like they did at indy but I think they got exposed last week.  The biggest thing being lack of competent wideouts.  The wr core is not good and can not get open.  They lack speed and separation.  The one time one wr did get open Orton missed him by a mile.  The second is the O-line.  I am still not sold on them even though they played well the past 2 weeks.  For a team to be as run heavy and ball control as the bears are, you need a more physical line.  Beekman and St. Clair on the left don't do it for me.

The bear rely on special teams and turnovers.  Hester may be out but Manning is good too.  The question for the tampa game is can they get Griese to turn it over.  I don't think Gruden will open it up enough to allow it.  I see this game like 16-10 Tampa.  The Bucs will but 8 in the box and dare Orton and those crappy WR's to beat them.  I don't think they can.
