When I posted this in May, Cam was not on the team. The whole angle of the pick is based on the Pats and BB proving to the world that they don’t need TB to be successful. And now we have the added bonus of Cam trying to prove he is not washed up and that Carolina made a mistake letting him go. So the angle is even stronger than before. The jilted team/coach (NE and BB) and the jilted player (Cam) put a beat down on the lowly Dolphins to usher in a new era of Patriot Football!

This guy is the bane of BB’s existence. Even if his entire family passed away, the Pats wouldn’t care. And how much harder can the Dolphins play for him than they did last year, when they pulled upset after upset as huge dogs because everyone thought the team was tanking? No one will be overlooking this team this time around. I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t throw at least two picks. 

A team that has played in like 9 Super Bowls in the past 20 years won't be playing their "Super Bowl" in week 1 against the Dolphins. Even post Brady. And the Dolphins didn't "dash their hopes of reaching another Super Bowl." They just prevented them from getting a first round bye. The Patriots weren't going to the Super Bowl last year regardless of seeding.

Look, Stu, I’ve said this a million times in other threads, and obviously you and I disagree, but I’ll say it once again, personal, psychological stuff matter to these coaches and players as much as the games do. They’re the games within the games, if you will. They have to do with bruised egos, hurt feelings, wanting to prove someone wrong, etc. There are literally hundreds of examples to back up what I’m saying. It’s the same reason people will bet on a player to outperform his normal stat line when going up against a team that traded him or cut him! This is no different, except I’m using a little hyperbole to spice up my take/write up.

Maybe I should have just bet this prop instead. Jesus Christ. They turn the ball over twice around midfield and the Pats score 0 points off the turnovers even though they got into FG twice. You can only pick them, folks, can’t play the game for them. Unbelievable bad luck!

This game should not have been this close.
