Growing up I played Madden every year up until about 2019 when the game’s quality started to drop off. I used to play people online and the game allowed people to cheat like hell if they play a certain defense and they could manipulate the game. But we ALL used to go for it on 4th and anything under 5 yards usually. Literally like every time we would go for it unless it was the very end of the game and you neeed to punt and trusted your defense. Well nowadays in the NFL these coaches are doing what we used to do and they go for it damn near every time. There’s been 6+ points taken off the board this game early in the game where it wasn’t necessary to do so. The game has changed fellas. Coaches are playing the game on madden mode now in real life. They don’t believe in taking easy Fg’s anymore those days are done

I hate the video games they have nowadays. I was the king of combat on Atari. and even the football on Atari required skill to win couldn't cheat unless you had a modified joystick

It’s weird, Madden All Pro is too easy. My Cardinals are 17-0, I’m about to play the SB against the Chiefs.
But if I take the super team I fantasy drafted to All Madden, I’m losing 21-0 in the first three possessions.
The one area where video games inform sportsbetting is depth of roster, and those guys who are a C+ now but may be an A- two years from now. I know who all the value OL are. And NFL informs Madden too, there are some DL guys who are a 67-70 but generate a helluva pass rush.
Lastly, as OP noted, there are some plays Madden punishes. For 18 years they’ve punished goal line slants. When Kurt Warner was at the 5 yard line just before halftime, I saw the formation and thought for a half second “please don’t be slants.”
Well Joey Effin Porter read the same slant that Madden punished and ran it back 99 yards. That score turned out to be more than the margin of victory.
Guess who else threw a goal line slant that cost the game? Russell Wilson. Anyways, good post. Onto the Super Bowl!
