Mystic just curious on NFL coaches and QBs that are elite in your mind?

I tend to agree that the NFC is better than the AFC this year but, this is not true for past years.  I would also contend that injuries cause some lopsided games and divisions.

Summa - GL to us.  I appreciate your level of detail and due diligence.

There are only two great players that are above everyone in this league Arron Rogers continues to show his talent and ability surpasses anyone who's ever played the position Put this guy in the AFC East on a good like the Patriots he would have 10 Super bowls

Cam Newton is the MVP of the league this year and will win his first Super Bowl at 6 "5 240  his is a physical specimen

He's a QB fullback combined and  he made plays  all year long  to win games , this guys won a National Championship on his own and won't be denied winning the next two games

This secondary is easily top-10 material, maybe top-8. Shields, Burnett, Clinton-Dix, Hayward, Rollins, Randall, Hyde is also a very deep unit. I will take the Packers secondary all day long over what the Panthers will bring to the table tomorrow.

The Panthers do have a good defense, no doubt. But it's primarily because of their front seven. The reason they dominated the Seahawks in the first half was that the Seahawks' play-calling played exactly into the strenghts of the Panthers. Lynch couldn't run all season long and yet they try to feed him even though it was impossible to run on the Panthers. They totally passed on putting Wilson into play-action on which he is at best. When they started calling more passing plays and bootleg concepts for Wilson, they were able to exploit the Panthers secondary.

The weakness of the Cardinals defense is the lack of finishing a pass rush. They use havoc blitzing concepts like Double Loops with some well designed disguised blitzes, but they don't have the quality of an edge rush to get sacks. They want to disrupt the passing lanes of opposing QBs and make him feel pressure so he makes bad decisions which results into interceptions, a lot of them by Mathieu playing the robber position. But even with Mathieu, they got beaten by good passing offenses like Seahawks and Bengals this season. Cam Newton is the MVP, but in fact, he doesn't play a career season. People look at TDs, and he collected a lot because of short fields. But his numbers tell us that he averages 1.3 yards per play less than Carson Palmer. Regarding NYPPA, Comp% he plays only his 2nd to 3rd best season. The Panthers offense will be limited tomorrow, it would surprise me if they move the ball consistently when starting in their territory.
thx Suuma, appreciate your take

In the NFL with  unbalanced divisions and one conference clearly better than the other the playoff system fails to put the two best teams pitted against each other on Superbowl Sunday

You can't count wins and losses or  silly championship games or Super Bowl appearances and say Belichick is this great genius , like i said before if he stayed in  Cleveland he probably would be managing a 7-11 or at least working the cash register .

Over all i see a lot of bad coaching and stupid decisions that lose games i'm not excited by any coach why do we always have to have a great one ?

This year Ron Rivera's team was 15-1 and  probably will win the Super Bowl ,  i have to say he did a good job

Hmmm ... while I don't think the NFL would have the kahunas, to let anti Brady sentiment seep into the referees calls, I would like to know,an,average how many penalties new,England makes a game, and in the playoffs, and see if the numbers in this game are consistent.

It definitely will be interesting to tally up the damage after tomorrow's game

Games won in the trenches, Cards don't do the Tom Brady offense to often, Carolina D line is gonna harass Palmer all game, see 1 or 2 ints for Car D, not a must for Car to win either.  The biggest mismatch of the game is the #1 blitz team in the league Arizona going against the qb with the most tds vs the blitz, Cam Newton.  So many good cappers are totally wrong on this game, I wonder if any of them actually played football or just cap, I have done both. Palmer will try those bubble screen passes off the line of scrimmage, Car tackles well and the lbs are the best in the game. Carolina 30 Arizona 17

Also see Car hitting 1 or 2 bombs when AZ blitz and Cam runs around and beats them deep, look for Ginn or Funches to have a big day.

AFC has won 5 of the last 10 Superbowls, so where is the dominating NFC?
I know you will have an excuse because you are Excuseman!!!
You have a made up or perceived excuse for everything!!!

So also explain why the AFC has won 9 of the last 15 Superbowls???

I'm talking present day and last few years the AFC teams all stink there is little competition

The Patriots played an 8-8 Ravens team last year  at home in the so called "championship game" and were  down by 14 points and were lucky to win

You want to go back 15 years  yea the NFC stunk , and the Patriots won one of their Super bowls by beating a crappy Carolina team 31-28 with Jake Delhomme playing QB who in that game outplayed Brady , Mr Clutch Tom Brady threw a pick late and almost blew the game .

Last year Dallas Green bay Seattle  were all better than the Patriots  but  they lucked out on a fluke and got handed a Super bowl

I'm talking present day AFC and how stinky all the teams are
Only 7 of the 16 teams in the AFC are over  500

After Feb 7 the Patriots  will have lost losing 3 out of the last 4 Super Bowls they were in , and should really be 4 out of 4 we can all reflect on this in two weeks .

Actually Baltimore was 10-6 when they played the patriots last  year their a 5 -11 team year more stinkier

But just think of it when the Patriots lose another Super bowl  3 out of the last 4 with one being a gift ,

Remember how the Buffalo Bills were considered such losers in the 90's getting to all these Super Bowls and losing ,  do you remember ?

Much similarity here deal with it my Patriot friends

the team that won the game with an INT was lucky but the team that caught a pass after a deflection and with his behind on the turf and upside down was all skill. yep...no bias here. rotfl

After Feb 7 the Patriots  will have lost losing 3 out of the last 4 Super Bowls they were in , and should really be 4 out of 4 we can all reflect on this in two weeks .

the team that won the game with an INT was lucky but the team that caught a pass after a deflection and with his behind on the turf and upside down was all skill. yep...no bias here. rotfl

Yea lucky gift both apply

Your not putting  that INT in the context of the game

Throwing a football at the 1 yard line near the middle of the line of scrimmage where everyone and there mother is  , was the all time dumbest play in the history of  Super Bowls and  post season play

And it was only this  Farce of an ending that prevented the Patriots of being in exclusive company of losing 3 straight Super bowls

Seattle sucks and only advances because of inferior coaching (GREEN BAY Bumpkin coach who choked with 12pt lead and 4min to go) and Minnesota kicker shanks xtra pt fieldgoal. Dont forget crooked (oh I forgot the rules) refs who should have put ball on 1 inch line with Deroit 1st and goal. Highway robbery. Turn about fair play eh Seattle and the fucken Patriots beat you despite YOUR PSYCHO crybaby weepy excuse. They would have stopped Lynch the next 10 times and you know you have to live with it . Ha ha ha. Go Pats 5 Superbowls. How do you like those APPLES.

and a fluky play vs giants is what prevented them from winning 4 in a row...anyone thats starts the what if game to berate another team is already losing the argument...brady had the greatest 4th q in SB history against the best d in the league down 10 points nd that is why the patriots won. no stats, excuses or opinions are needed.

Listen up all you expert pronosticators. Pete Carroll is a competent coach whose been in pressure situations before so dont be a monday morning QB and question his decision of passing the football. CARROLL was playing with house money and went clean. Stop it right now 2nd guessing his call. In hindsight he made the correct call but was burned on the river. Enough of your analysis leads to paralysis.SMARTEN UP.

suuma: good points liked your write-up. Thanks

the old adage of your defense travels....especially in January.

Weather, wind, cold temps.....That is why Defense and Rushing the ball are so important to me at this time of year....But maybe it will be different for Boston.
What I saw last week, on my Weather App said 8 mile winds in Denver..yet no one seemed to move the ball against it until the 4 th quarter.....

Add some snow and then passing is more "dicy".....50 times in Miami ok ..50 times in Denver...not so smart, but then I am not a football genius, like they have in Boston.

Boston cannot afford to be 1 dimensional tomorrow, IMO,  but the Public doesn't seem to care....All they remember is Manning when his foot was injured this fall, The Pats bettors are not  even bothered, that Osweiler the Back up QB, beat their SB bound team..

In fact most of the facts like S.O,S, DNV offensive stats last 3 weeks better than Pats are just poo poohed due to injuries, like no one else has them this time of year...? And Denver has a DEFENSE.......a luxury Mr Manning never seemed to have when he matched up in the past Vs Brady and the Pats...this time the match-up is in reverse.....Brady's defense is suspect.

Suuma you made  good points, but the one most tangent is that the public loves the Pats...and as long as Vegas doesn't see 80% on that side.....the line sits @ 3 after moving to 3.5 early when they took in over 80% of the money on the Pats...

I even heard BB was going to design his defense to protect inside the hash marks for short coverage routes and force Manning to throw out and deep....Funny but that is all any one ever has to do to beat the Pats..with the current cast of receivers and O' line.

I looking forward to watching a great game....hope the REFS keep it real....
Right now, the DNV side is getting my money....but I will get flat pretty quick.  If I see Boston doing something I don't think they can do consistently.....rush the ball 3+ yards per carry, defend against the rush stop for less than 3 yards per carry, and defend the pass...

Otherwise it's a "flat" coin flip.... Both teams are 12-4 but only one played the AFC South and the NFC East....both were just LESS then Mediocre divisions this year. One team had their #1 QB start all 16 games.  So I like  the points and the home dog...Why not? because I am not a genius.
