cincy should have fired lewis years ago. the worst thing about cincy going to the playoffs for one round is that won't happen for a while now. it's a shame because they drafted so well the last few years and won't have any success with lewis.

They backed into the playoffs so it SHOUL not count. Cinci outplayed Hou in the first half minus the incredible defensive play for pick 6. However, Hou made excellent adjustments at half time and Cinci made none. That falls on the headman. I'm a SF fan and have seen our previous coaching staff equally inept.

This is well written and true. I agree they backed in and looked very poor today, largely due to poor coaching decisions, but playoffs are playoffs and he&#x27;ll be back.

I&#x27;m the first one to say usually coaches get fired too soon (3-4 yrs) but he has had some solid personel behind him and still can&#x27;t get it done.

[/Quote]i agree but i don&#x27;t think cincy management will agree with us.  lewis has had a lot of talent on some of his teams and underachieved routinely.  they did back in but they have a rookie qb, and an otherwise young team in a tough division.  i think they extend the rope on this guy after this season.  you know every season there is a team that is the public favorite to improve immensely and the public is usually wrong on that.  we already know that team will be cincy.  i can already see the value betting against them in certain spots, particularly early in the season, next year.

Tough to fire him after probably his best year.Bengals were predicted for last place maybe getting 4 wins at the most this year.Rookie qb and you go to the playoffs=good job

No. Give him at least another year to get past the hangover he still must be feeling because of Palmer and Cinqo. He took a rookie quarterback and rookie receiver with a pathetic running game to the playoffs. That says a lot.

While it is true Lewis is a terrible coach and should have been fired many years ago, this playoff appearance will probably buy him another 3-4 years. But the Bengals will be an excellent team to bet against next year, they will win no more then 6 games. By the way does anyone remember Lewis when the Bengals were on Hard Knocks? A gutless, classless, box.
