Really tough game to get an accurate read on. I feel like the Lions are one of those teams I can never get a solid read on. They have all the talent but when I watch/bet on them I never know what I'm going to get. They can be as bad as they were first half vs Atlanta, or as good as the second half. When I bet on a Lions game, I just don't know what I'm going to get. Getting Calvin Johnson back is huge and should benefit Tate a lot. Grimes has shown me that he can cover receivers much bigger than him, like AJ Green and Marshall. Johnson will definitely get some catches, but it would surprise me if he had more than 80 yards. Finnegan on Tate is a rough matchup, and for some reason am feeling a Ebron touchdown. Bush scares me in the run game too. Its going to be a tough test for Miami's D, and I am interested to see how they back up last weeks performance.

If you watched Miami's game last week at all, you saw total dominance after the first drive of the game. SD converted 2-3 long third down before being stuffed on 4th and 1. After that Miami outgained SD roughly 400 to 90. I was just sitting there pretty shocked that play after play they continued to dominate against a good team. They made Phillip Rivers look like Geno Smith and Tannehill played the best game by a QB since Marino. Every pass was perfectly placed. It was incredible to watch. I don't want to hear 'it was just one game either.' In the last 5 weeks, Tannehill has completed 14 in a row, twice. He also had 2 of the best games of his career, and added a nice bonus with his legs. Like I said I haven't seen a game like that in 15 years but the potential is there. Just knowing they can play at that level should be frightening to anyone playing the Fins, or betting against them.

Lions have the best ranked defense in the NFL, and the Dolphins have the 3rd. I feel the same way going into this game as I did last week. I expect a tight game, but I think the Dolphins have the talent to pull it out. I think the biggest factor going into this game is the Dolphins O-line. If they protect against the Lions nasty front 7, which is easier said than done. Really the biggest factor for me betting on this game is how good Miami is playing. The Lions haven't played a really impressive game since week 3 vs the Packers. I'll take the hot team, as an underdog.

    ytd Dolphins games: +33.5u

    prediction: 27-20, Dolphins

Miami Dolphins ML: 5u to win 6.6
    Miami Dolphins O 20.5: 4u to win 3.8

Fun fact, All of the Dolphins wins this year have been by double digits. GL, whatever you play. Go fins

It was just one game....just kidding brutha .

I'm hoping the Dolphins continue to produce on both sides of the ball so they can end this long playoff drought.

Good luck on your plays brutha

    Adding:

Detroit Lions under 23: 3.5u to win 3.3

I just can't see the lions and their one dimensional offense putting up that many points. I also read the lions blog on sportsnation where the lions writer thinks the Dolphins take this one 16-10. I also read an article on nfl.com with Greg Rosenthal slurping the dolphins defense calling them the leagues best (notorious dolphins hater) It won't be that low scoring but I'll take my chances that Miami's elite defense can hold them under 24. The lions offensive line is bad and run game is worse.

ARGH! The Lions game gave me flashbacks of the damn Packers game. My heart can't handle anymore of these type of games. Anyway sorry about your prop plays brutha  on the bright side you are still playing with house money

Anyway I'm hoping on a short week the Dolphins gets back on track by beating the Bills this Thursday. Kind of weary as the Dolphins have Albert now on IR. He has been solid this year and I hope he gets healthy for next season. The o-line seemed to hold up well though after he left the game but I'm not sure if they are sticking to that line-up or planning on finally starting Billy Turner.

I see that LaMichael James is added on the starting roster. I'm kind of excited to see how that pans out as he seems to be a fit in Lazor's offensive scheme.

The Bills seem to have the Dolphins number as of late so I'm hoping the Dolphins comes up with a great game plan to finally bring the Bills winning streak against the Dolphins to an end this Thursday. This is a huge game for both teams with possible playoff implications so let's hope our Dolphins pulls out the win.

Very tough loss. Still up 27.8 units, but could really care less about the money.

Miami is 3-0 this year in 'Must win games'

    - Week 4 vs Oakland (they were 1-2)
    - Week 7 vs Chicago (they were 2-3)
    - Week 9 vs San Diego (they were 4-3..this was more of a must win because they already lost to KC and Buff, so tiebreakers.)

This week is another must win, and a primetime game. I cannot wait for everyone and their dog to have an opinion about the Dolphins this week. Always get a good laugh out of those threads.

I'm very surprised they brought up L James. This must mean they are at the end of the rope with Thomas. There is no way Damien Williams is going anywhere. He looks like he has star potential. He is electric.

I certainly won't be lining up to take the fins -5 this week

A little surprised you aren't backing Dolphins. Prior to the Lions game, you stated you were looking forward to this week.

Do you feel the loss to Lions will linger?

Thanks buddy, appreciate all your input on the Phins

Surely the Fins have had enough with the Bills seemingly getting the better of them every time. I'm on Miami -5. The fins should look to protecting Tannehill as priority #1 after getting thrashed by the Lions. I think Bills offense is tired. That, plus a short week, plus poor redzone performance, Miami pass defence, and we got a game here.

I'm ready for some home field magic.

earthwake, I gave you credit against chargers, but don't tell me I don't know football when tannehill miss timed a wide open thrown to clay in 4th quarter IN THE RED ZONE that would have put you up 7. not trying to be a person, but I know football bro. that being said I love the dolphins d, grimes cover skills are so legit, maybe top 3 cb in league. what an int, and he was in megas hip when he made that td catch. sometimes you just cant stop a good throw and catch. good luck against bills.

The reason I don't like the Fins -5 doesn't have much to do with the Lions game. It has more to do with the fact that they are 0-3 vs the Bills, and heir dline has owned Dolphins Oline last 3 matchups. Even without Albert Miami's Oline is a lot better than it was last year, but the loss of Albert cannot be understated. He was a sure fire pro bowler this year I can't even remember his player hitting the quarterback since the Kc game.

I'm not exactly sure why I liked Miami so much a few days ago and not so much now. I think it has more to do with how nervous I am with this game in regards to this season. If they lose their season is really close to over. I really do think the Dolphins win but laying 5 and some places 6 is pretty dangerous against a team that seems to own them. I think the Dolphins win a tight game and could cover, but laying that many points on Miami is risky! I definitely thought it would be Dolphins -3. We all know the Dolphins have the potential to blow them out, but I'd say there is only a 20% chance of that. I just see a close game.

@jayucla: I have no idea what u are talking about with that throw to clay. That was clearly a drop. The ball was thrown slightly behind him but that was 100% drop. I never said you didn't know football but I didn't agree with your assessment of the jags game or chargers game.

I hope so man I really do. On paper Miami should handle the Bills but they are one of those teams that they just play bad against. I've been burned too many times by them so I have trouble laying 5. I will admit Miami does play better vs the Bills at home if this game was in Buffalo I wouldn't touch it

This is probably my biggest gamble of the season so far. Let's hope your team and my pick pull it off.

I will be back with final plays soon if anyone cares. I try to stay off these boards when Miami has a prime time game because I get really pissed when I read people talking about the Dolphins who have no idea what they are saying.

earth, man I feel ya on people talking garbage to your team during prime time, I hate that! on that throw it was a rollout with clay open before tannehill delivered. when he did he gave the defender time to close. my fav play of the game was dion Jordan zone coverage on mega in end zone, hahaha that was classic. good luck this Thursday!

@alecadventure, I am prob gonna tease the bills to 11, the saints to pick, and the broncos to -3. 3 team 6.5 teaser

Scary game for sure.. Buffalo is a nightmare matchup for the fins.... In the 0-3 stretch vs buffalo the fish can't seem to block them..  Lazor is going to have to have a conservative gameplan and really stick to the run or it will be sack after sack....

Buffalo does not have a potent offense either so the Fins need 30+ rush attemps to win this game... There best way to go about it would be a grind it out approach and play field postion.

I have watched every Dolphin game since 1994 when i was 7 years old... Please stop talking about them having an elite defense when in any key spot they still can't get a big stop... (Packers, Lions games)

An elite defense steps up there and they are sitting at 7-2

Or imagine if the offense could have just got a first down or two in either game when they had the ball up at around the 3 min mark.....

Looks like the same shitt fins to me...  Everyone jumps on the bandwagon last week and shockingly the Dolphins special teams makes a huge play for once to help them "steal" a game on the road, and yet the Defense gives up a game winning drive like they have for the last 20 years or so in a big spot.

With all those playoff teams in the late 90's and the two teams who should have made the playoffs (2002,2003)  the defense would play good for 3.5 quarters and then with the game on the line would implode.... same story this year.

Ur a diehard fins fan like me and u know in ur heart Buffalo +5 is a tremendous bet.... What is the fins spread record the last 10 years or so as home favs?   The worst in football....   Shockingly they are 1-1 this year in that role and not 0-2

as i fan I just hope the fish win.... but if we come out trying to throw it everydown it's going to be a sackfest and Tannehill will get beat up all night

Well said. I don't think buffalo +5 is a tremendous bet but I am very surprised they are getting that many. I'd be playing the bills ML for sure if I had no interest in this game.

@gimmeshelter: thanks for that thought provoking, indepth analysis. I have never heard that before.

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins (-5, 42)

For all intents and purposes this is basically a playoff game. The loser of this game is in serious trouble, and will have a huge mountain to climb if they lose. I know for a fact the Dolphins are the better and more dangerous team, but struggle against the Bills.

I don't have as much time as I'd like so I'll make this quick. I have no idea what is going to happen in this game, and neither do you. Miami could come out and win by 30, or lose. The game could end 13-10, or 24-23. No matter what bet you make tonight, it could easily lose. The biggest advantage goes to the Dolphins defense. Without Jackson and Watkins 100% who is going to make plays? I would be very surprised if the Bills score 17 points.

I'm worried about Dolphins O-line, but like I said even without Albert it is 5X better than it was last year. As long as the O-line doesn't get completely manhandled, I think the Dolphins win. The Dolphins are more talented team, and should win...but until they play a solid game against the Bills, I am not sold. I need to see to believe it.

Keep an eye on the first 2 series for the Dolphins offense. If they have success they will most likely win, if they can't block they will most likely lose. I can tell right away what kind of offense Miami will have for the day right away, and so should you. If Tannehill is on point with his passes, tear up your Bills ticket. I'm surprised so many people are on the Bills. Dolphins could easily show up and dominate like they did vs the Chargers.

Also, if you don't know anything about the Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry you will learn quick. He is a BEAST and will be for years to come. He is a hair away from breaking a kick/punt every game. I think tonight is the night. He literally runs up and catches a punt as good as I've ever seen, which gives Miami great field position.

Bottom line: Dolphins only lose if they don't block and beat themselves. Their o-line is better than you think, even without Albert.

    prediction: 24-12, Dolphins

    Buffalo Bills under 18 : 5u to win 4.7
    Buffalo Bills under 14.5 (+179): 2u to win 3.6
    Buffalo Bills under 13 (+334): 1.5u to win 5
    Defense/special teams TD(+160): 1.5u to win 2.4

If the Dolphins lose I won't be back for a few days. This game is huge, and a loss would be killer. You will find out who the Dolphins are one way or another tonight. I believe you will see a team closer to the SD game. gl, go fins

WHEN THE FINS DROPPED TO -4 (-115)

    I JUMPED ON THE -4 AND BOUGHT IT TO -3 (-150 )

I think it is time for the Dolphins to step up on Prime Time

people can say all they want about how well Orton has played and what hes done for the Bills, but his inability to move is really going to hurt him tonight.  I think the Phins defense has a field day and just pin their ears back and tee off on this dude.

Started out liking Bills+6, but now that the line has moved to Dolphins-4, I'm starting to think Dolphins can cover.

At home, primetime...time for Tannehill to show up as a big time QB.

@feedmecappers: Solid point. I mentioned in another thread that the reason Miami plays so well vs the Pats is they do much better vs non mobile QBs. They only really get hurt by mobile QBs who get out of he pocket. 4 losses to Manuel, Alex Smith A-rodgers and Stafford. All mobile, QBs.

@fadeX: Thats why I'd never take the bills with the points is  because Miami's potential to show up and blow out. Which is why I see some value in Bills ML but not points. I think bills win a close one or Fins win a blowout.

I just got a stream update that Jackson is almost certainly not going to play. The bills will have zero success running the ball tonight. Finnegan is out so Woods will have to be the savior tonight, or Chandler. I trust Grimes on Watkins who is hobbled. Where the hell are the points going to come from for buffalo?

Also to be noted Reshad jones did not play last matchup vs Bills. He is playing at elite levels as a safety this year
