    Good Job Phix.

Sorry I don't post much here but I have a life - luckily finding your 9 meaningful posts doesn't take all that long in this 13 page crapfest of a thread - just don't change your Avatar as it's damn easy to spot while scrolling at 90MPH.

Phixer, Summa, St2ee, and Swampthing are all very good with their picks and analysis. I don't get why people get on their threads when they lose and go off to make themselves feel better. Must be trying to compensate for other "shortcomings"

would you post anything for tonight brother?>>>>???

Attention everybody.  This is the NFL forum and we are discussing picks in the NFL.

Anyone ever consider the "haters" are part of the same system as the NFL?

Why not find out those that are better then 55% and destroy the fan fare?  Let's face it, there is only a small handfull of legitimit (or close to legitimit) sites out there.  Are we not to think that some of these so called haters are not in the same bed with the ref's that call a 15 yard penalty for no apparent reason?  Which oh by the way now puts a team out of a fg to cover!

Cheers to all on covers!  As haters bring a balance to the world we all live in.........  Balance is a necessity

NFL Week 7: MNF ARZ Cardinals vs BAL Ravens

This season, the NFL is easier to decipher than any previous season I remember. I think that overall decline in western world's intellectual capabilities witnessed in recent years led to letting off the guard of what we call Vegas as they become sloppier letting algorithms to decide the lines and then doctoring them often with no avail as we can often see thru their simpleton tactics.

What happened yesterday in London and later in Tennessee was a testimony how recognizable their tactical moves have become but there is a big BUT in all this. We can recognize it. But intellectually declined gambling world is led to a slaughter day after day week after week and is still believing in slogans about the cleanness of professional sports that wouldn't shame communistic slogans taken from Lenin - Stalin era.

I said before and will repeat it again. The keys is Money Management as well as following the buck. That's right. The dollar dictates the action and not the other way. That is the reason I do not call myself a handicapper. Because I feel at times that I really have my hands in a cookie jar and can pull any cookie at any time. No. That info is not available nor publicly and neither is it free. Worse than that - even if you wanted to become the part of the gild - and would be willing to pay - you'd still have to go through applying for it with no guarantee you'd become the part of the gild. But me - I'm sharing my knowledge with you and all you have to do is learn or follow. Or find that source and apply to be part of it (in that case prepare to part with some of your cash made with me here because those guys aren't cheap).

NFL Week 7: MNF ARZ Cardinals vs BAL Ravens

This sentence is from the book I began writing after striking a deal with a well known publisher -

.....the concept at the core of the relationship between the money wagered and the outcome of a sporting event is often misrepresented by the interested parties and therefore misunderstood by the general public........

The best example still fresh in our memory is the game in London between the Jags and the Bills.
The line released by the oddsmakers/traders who today rely on algorithms rather than human factors -  was the Bills -6 hoping that is the line that will split the number of the bettors and hopefully the money evenly so the books and Vegas casinos and hotels will have easy time collecting the juice in the middle and moving on to deal with other unbalanced bets.
Well, that didn't happen and the books began covering themselves by placing excess money bets with "Vegas " (conditional name for those who are taking a risk at taking the excess money and have the capacity to influence the result the way they will not lose by paying the side with excess money on it).
Once "Vegas" saw it had no choice - it took a decision to draw even more money in because they obviously need some more money to influence the result and lowered the line on already a publicly favored Bills to -4.5, -4, and finally closed at -3. we all know how the game ended.
Exactly the same happened with the game in Tennessee. exactly the same scenario. Although - the Titans didn't win the game SU - the Falcons point shaving machine worked flawlessly.
True, sometimes wise guys have a stronger say as to how the game will end if they have some player/s or a coach/es, or the refs that owe a gambling debt or other debts, but usually that happens on rare occasions.
The conclusion? The money influences the result and not the opposite.
But how do we know where the money is on.We all know that no bookie in his right mind will not let you know the true numbers. Well, here is the punch line - the "Vegas" got us used to think that the most popular bet is the one to win and that is how public money gets burned time after time while in reality it is the opposite. When they have no choice but not to lose - they won't lose. And you know how at the end all stay with "wow" and forget that next week.

All the Raven's matches this season were decided by 5 or less points. They didn't win ATS yet. The teams both teams encountered are different strength wise and the Ravens can turn on their defense if they need to and tonight they need you as for my calculation the game should end at 26-25 to either side but I do think that the Ravens have a shot here.
Another interesting stat is the relationship between those two organizations. Pay attention to this: the Ravens are 4-1 SU against the Cardinals in last 5 games dating back to 1997 and at the same time are 1-4 ATS. Point shaving we said? So we said. Another factor that helps us in our pick is the famous "Arizona" is gonna come up all fired up after a loss in Pittsburgh". Well, I think that train has already left the station.

    BAL Ravens +10  -110     1100$

Lol so Atlanta didn't try to score at the goal line in the 4th?  That was on purpose right?   You do realize it's just a coincidence right?  Had they scored would he say point shaving?  How about it's just that Atlanta isn't as good as people think.  Or the. NFL talent wise is way more even then people understand.  And that is the reason there is regression to the mean or what you call planned and point shaving. You'd be a retard to think there isn't some outside influence in some games.  But to treat this like its wrestling is amusing to say the least.

Man PHIX you definitely know your stuff and provided a peek behind the curtain of how Vegas really works with regard to the money and line movement.  Sometimes the emperor is caught with no clothes on.  It is almost comical how some of these games involving big money public favorites end.  (IE) Colts-3 to the Titans winning by 2.  And this week Falcons -5.5 to Titans winning by 3 doing everything possible to stay inside the number.  Deciphering the signs staying on the correct side with regards to  money and not perception is key.   Good luck to you tonight my friend. ................
