Also, based on your theory we have to label Trent Dilfer (Ravens) as a "winner" or great?

All great points.  You took the words right out of my mouth.

What exactly is more than McDone........Let me see
    1. Go to a superbowl and either win or not throw three picks in a loss
    2. Maintain a Qb rating higher then 85.8
    3. Not look like you ate yourself by 32.......someone pop him to aleve the swelling.
4.Keep his mother off of soup commercials.  I have not eaten that soup since.
    5. Not fight with the best receiver you ever had.

Romo should be able to achieve all of this........Hell give me a helmet......I can damn near do it.

That is some funny shit dude.    I'm not sure that they're all good points, but it is funny!

No we do not have to do that.

Who would take Marino or Fouts  in the draft.......given what they already know about their careers.

Please be the first one to step right in here and get trapped.     No one in there right mind would draft a guy if they knew he would not win.

Dilfer should not have been traded, he was  the perfect QB for the Ravens........look @ the Ravens since.

If you can not see that Mcnabb is old,fat and Done...I feel for ya.    ! decent year  in the next 3-4 maybe, but nothing that even comes close to a top 5 performance.

    Top 5 right now?

    1. Brady
    2. Peyton
    3. Derek Anderson (wasn't a fluke season)
    4. David Garrard
    5. Jason Campbell - hopefully he's healthy.

Fat, slow, done, fights with his "pill popping" WR, old.

I'm wondering why this guy (McNabb) even has a job still.

You boys get all salty w/McNabb b/c you probably drafted him in your fantasy league when he was hurt. Oh Well

Sucker----that line about who would draft Fouts etc, knowing they would never win consistently in their careers is absurd.

These people would never have been drafted, based on your keen insight:

    Sam Bowie
    Len Bias
    Ryan Leaf
    Shawn Bradley
    Kijana Carter
    Lawrence phillips
    Curtis Enis
    Tony Mandarich
    Andre Ware
    David Klingler
    Gino torretta
    Steve Emtman
    Aundray Bruce
    Sebastian Telfair
    Brian Bosworth
    Kwame Brown
    Percy Snow
    Jeff george
    Todd marinovich

Friends these are "busts", not a guy like Fouts or Marino that could throw for 300 yds SEVERAL times a season.

I sprinkled in some NBAers for shits and giggles.  Busts are in every sport, but it's part of the game.

Sucker-------Thanks for shedding some light on how dense you are.

I take it that you don't get drug tested @ Work?

BTW-as of this post, Romo was still looking for his first playoff win!

I sprinkled in some NBAers for shits and giggles.  Busts are in every sport, but it's part of the game.

Sucker-------Thanks for shedding some light on how dense you are.

BTW-as of this post, Romo was still looking for his first playoff win!

    Goodkat...

You make a few good points, but I've got to call you out on a few of your errors in your post.  Number one:  There are alot of folks out there that have Big Ben in their top five, and they are not all out of their minds.  Just to say such a thing is at the least borderline absurd.  And being in the top five in passing yards is not a must to be considered a top five.  Number two:  To say that Hasselbeck, Garcia, and Bulger could do just as well in the 'Burgh is not absurd, but you just dont know that.  Ben played one year at QB in high school and just three years in the MAC.  Then he came into the NFL and took the job over in the 3rd game of his rookie season.  And never lost a game all year.  That is nothing short of amazing.  Then he nearly took his team to the Super Bowl in his second year.  After failing to do so, he promised Bettis that he would get him there if he stayed around, and he delivered.  And by the way, Bulger is not top five and should not be in this discussion.  He's close, but not there.  Number three:  Romo is not a clown.  He may be a fluke (I dont think he is), but to say he is a clown is just out of line IMO.  The NFC is a joke though.  I will give you that.  You NAILED THAT.  Number four:  You cant downplay the receivers' talent on that Bengals team.  Palmer does have that and many QB's in the league would love to have TJ and Housh.  I dont like Carson Palmer.  But he is good IMO.  Number five:  You said Ben "does not have even close to all of the tools needed to be considered in this catagory".  This is downright absurd.  That's all I can say on that matter.

One of the reasons I dont like your boy Palmer is that almost every time the Steelers beat up on your Ben-Gals he seems to always tell the press that the better team didn't win.  In my opinion he needs to grow up and quite whining so much.  I've heard him say that more than once or twice following a loss and I think he just has to come to terms with the fact that the Steelers are better.

Thanks dude!  That's some of the funniest shit in this thread.  Great athlete.  Average at best quarterback.   I laughed my ass off when they let go of Schuab.  I knew they would rue the day.  He's better than Vick ever was.  And because Vick was such a celebrated ATHLETE, they kept in the starting lineup.  That dude said it best when he called Vick a "coach killer".  Yeah the dude could run like a gazelle, but he lacked so many other needed skills to be a winning qb.  I've already said it and I'll say it again:  No team with him at QB will ever win anything.   The only way he'll win a Super Bowl (if he can find employment later) is if his defense and running game are both far superior than anything in the league.  And I'll lay big money that that never happens.  The odds are it wont.  And even then the coach will have to be smart enough to limit his throws.  The dude just doesn't have the grey matter to achieve at that level.

Were you serious about listing Vick?  C'mon dude...

Besides... him and his brother are simply a lower form of life.

Hey Steel, it's funny because itbdubz5 kinda contradicts himself because according to him Romo sucks because he's 0-2 in the playoffs. Slightly contradictory?

Thanks for your input but I cant agree with Anderson and Campell.  Anderson needs to prove that he's not a fluke and that takes a few more games (more than 21), and Campbell's numbers are average at best after only having played 20 games.

Something else to ponder.  Romo sat the bench for a while, but what if Bledsoe had done just enough to keep the job and hadn't got hurt.  Where would Brady be now?  There are many stories like that.  Just because Romo sat the bench doesn't mean he was terrible.  How does a Willie Parker never start in college at NC?  How does James Harrison sit the bench for four years and then make the Pro Bowl after his first year as a starter?  If you dont get the opportunity and the right breaks, you cant succeed.

Lakers (you too steel), your reading comprehension skills are somehwhat lacking.

NEVER did I state that Romo sucks.

Merely pointing out he fact that he's 0-2  in the playoffs , yet some of you guys are leg humping him.

Lakers- Critique the BOZO that is implying that FOUTS and MARINO were a bust.

Both have their "busts" in CANTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    7-5 in the playoffs

    or 0-2?

    Excellent point Steel...

And with that we could even start another list.....guys who were backups and flourished when given the opportunity. Some pretty big names would be on that list...

Favre, Brady, Romo, Delhomme, Bulger, Garrard...

And that's not to say that ALL of these guys have been GREAT, but they have all had their share of success.

Yes, saying that Fouts and Marino are busts is completely ludicrous.....completely agree there.

Harping on the fact that Romo is 0-2 thus far in the playoffs after one full season as a starting QB is also ludicrous AND with that you are implying that he sucks. Why don't we see what Romo's playoff record is after 8 full seasons as a starting QB.....OR after 12 playoff games. Trying to compare them now is completely ludicrous. Romo is in the beginning of what should be a great career, and he SHOULD be considered one of the top QB's right now.....McNabb is in the twilight of his career and he is done; older, fatter, slower, injury-prone, and a worn out body. Facts are facts.......JACK!

ItsDubz.......I do not give two shits if they are in Canton.........that has nothing to do with this argument......stay on topic .......I bet you were the little ADD kid eating glue in school.

Let's restate the question for little Johnny....he was busy looking through his messy desk when the question was asked.

In the league, right now, who are your top five in no particular order?

^^^^^^^^ When you get Pwned do not change the topic!!!!!!!!!!!  This is not about Canton!

Mcnabb is still an over-rated over weight disaster waiting to happen.  Top 5........Not even close there are 10-12 that are better QB's   THIS YEAR.

If I was a coach, GM, owner, or whatever; these are the QB's I would take over McNabb to start the 2008 season...

Brady, P. Manning, Romo, Roethlisberger, Palmer, Brees, Anderson, Garrard, Rivers, Cutler, Hasselbeck, Bulger, V. Young, Favre, E. Manning...

    That's 15...

    Dec 16 2007 @ Dallas

    McNabb       23-41   208 yds  0 int 1 TD  9 rushes for 53 yds

    Romo          13-36   214 yds 3 int   0 TD  1 rush for 16 yds

    Eagles win 10-6
Keep in mind this game was ugly, but seriously?  "If" McNAbb blows so bad, how do we explain the numbers and result?

Just wondering how a team loses to a fat, old, slow, has been, never was QB?

Sucker----your earlier comments about Fouts and MArino being busts.....

Well let's just say you should "lock it up" and remain silent.  As you are a bufoon.

Next you'll be telling us how bad Earl Campbell sucked.

So by your logic as long as a guy wins in the regular season he is great.

I would not pick Marino in a draft....he could not win the big game.   I would not draft Fouts either knowing what I know now.  If you can not win the big ones.....what good are you?
Mcnabb is not even in the same league as those to QB's.....to mention the three of them in a sentence is foolish.
Unless the sentence is   Donavan Mcnabb was jailed in Ohio earlier today for stealing yellow jackets from Dan Fouts and Dan Marino. Mcnabb was quoted as saying he just could not handle being passed on for the fifth straight time by the pro football Hall of Fame.
