Just got Back from the Colts game....

all i can say is unbelieveable.

What i say probably has been repeated in other posts but thought I'd share my thoughts.

Furious. That's the best word I can describe about that game.  I lost a decent bet, but that's not what I'm most pissed off about.  Why the F**K would Caldwell play his starters 21/2 quarters then rest them??

If you're gonna rest them, they shouldn't have played at all, would've saved a lot of time for me and woulda cooled down how pissed off I am if I knew his/their strategy.

Caldwell said he would play Manning if the game is "competitve" throughout - HE TOOK HIM OUT WHEN THEY WERE UP 15-10! You don't think thats competitive? dipshit

Anyway, all the fans were pissed (rightfully so). Chargers win the AFC hands down and based off the Saints freaking loss, the NFC should stand for the "Nobody Fucking Cares" league...how do you lose to the Bucs at home?!

Congrats to all the Jets backers - you had me wrong but I can say that if Manning played throughout, this game goes the Colts way.

The Chargers are ballin right now. But you could see the anger in Manning eyes so this could be a blessing in disguise now. No more pressure on staying perfect its all about winning now on what really counts the championship I think.

I figured the Jets needed it and the line smelled of Manning resting...People said Dungy was dumb to rest starters and he got a SuperBowl out of it.  Meanwhile, Belichek played for the perfect season and then beat the Giants in game 16 only to lose to them in the SuperBowl....

Had the Patriots thrown game 16 would the Giants have gone in and been able to beat them?

And yeah Caldwell's smokescreens this week sucked. There was no point to it since he did not give a damn about winning anyway, so no competitive advantage to disclosing that he would in fact rest Peyton the second half no matter what. Not to mention the fact that Manning claimed he would stay in as long as the score is close. Pointlessly shady unless you believe in gambling conspiracy theories.

i had a small wager on the game, both the half and game....yes i lost the game, but this is what discourage me.....you put painter in, with the second offensive weapons.  This is against the new york jets first unit.  That is a no win situation......the only thing what would happen is what happen.  now caldwell and manning came saying this was an organization decision, well that is nice.  But, now everyone is going to blame painter for the action on the field.

By the way, the jets needed the win and needs the win next week.  I am wondering what the colts would think if they are needing a victory help, would they be upset.  I am just wondering what the bubble teams are thinking...of course, you should depend on other for your sucess.  but, it does happen.  This has been the colts history and i should have known better.

What a disgrace to the fans.  If you’re not going to play your starters the whole game at least do it on the road.  Why not charge fans half the face value then.  I’m no Colts fan, but to me that is a slap in the face to them.

For the record, the Colts lost 1st HOME playoff game when they rested starters, to the Steelers, who went on to win Superbowl in 2005/6.

When the Colts won in 2006, they didn't have the luxury of resting the starters, they finished 12-4.

Then in 2007, they rested starters again in final home game, letting Tennessee win and get in playoffs, and they lost first HOME playoff game to San Diego.

Oh, one more!

In 2008, they rested starters in game 16, and they promptly lost first playoff game at San Diego.

You would think management would have learned...

well yea, brings up the point made in #15, y did they play the entire game against the jags?! everything was locked up then...hmmmm...a disgrace, caldwell was inconsistent

exactly, great point - i'm with u - ive been a season ticket older for 5 years, and this is the same situation as previous years...colts r my team but fro a bettors perspective, they wont win the AFC, let alone the super bowl...i hope im wrong though

First off, I did lose money on the Colts but that's not what I'm mad about. I'm pissed off that the Colts didn't try and run the table. That is such a hard thing to do and I think if you're that close you have to go for it. By pulling the starters in such a close game I think it sends a message to fans and the team that you don't care about losing. That can't be good for team psyche heading into this playoff stretch. On the topic of rest, they have a 1st round bye, how much rest do the starters really need?

If I were a player on a playoff team in the AFC I would not be afraid of the Colts after seeing this game. I'd be worried about facing SD, NE and possibly PIT. Think the Colts lost a lot more than the game and winning streak today
