The Chargers are ballin right now. But you could see the anger in Manning eyes so this could be a blessing in disguise now. No more pressure on staying perfect its all about winning now on what really counts the championship I think.
I agree with this. Manning may put on a show in these playoffs.

mojo is gone...colts lose in playoffs....this was a disaster! The coach should announced the first team will be rested and practiced his 2nd squad for this game...I think if that happened the 2nd squad would have gave the jets a run....This was VERY Shady!! to say the least!!! There is little doubt in my mind the Higher ups in the colts organization had alot of dough on the other team in a round about way of course.

I don't want to hear the argument that this was smart because someone could have gotten hurt. Someone could have gotten hurt in the first 2.5 quarters - or the first 14 games- And the other argument that Painter needs reps in case Peyton goes down in the playoffs is ridiculous as well. If that were to happen, against one of the top remaining 4 seeds, I don't care how many reps Curtis has, the Colts might as well walk off the field at that point - they are not going to win.
I have not missed a Colts game for the last 7 years...until today! I let the wife go with a friend while I stayed at home with the newborn. My attitude right now is to wait and see who the Colts will play in the Divisional game, then sell my tickets. I pay good money year in and year out for these games - money that I work hard each and every day of the week.
When I hit my sales goals for a week, month, year - I don't take the rest of the duration off...I keep going - for momentum's sake. If I take 3 weeks off, I have to work that much harder to jump start things when I come back at full strength. In the playoffs, you don't get that luxury!!! Teams have been working hard for weeks to secure their spot - fight through the first round... This team had the momentum of 14 straight wins - 23 in you want to count regular season, which I don't as a Colts fan because they lost the damn playoff game last year!!! This team had things going the right way - they played the opponents game, and found a way to win them all - scoring 14 and holding the opposition to 12, dropping 35 on you or making multiple goal line and 4th down stops.
History has proven with this team - that losing that their momentum is a killer!!!
I hate this move - am furious as Polian for pulling this shit --- we have been blessed with a great team year in and year out. We take winning in the regular season for granted. But to do this - in a close game is insane!!! I can't and won't go against the Colts - but will remember how the organization quit on my support when they were so close to getting to their goal - the SuperBowl...

yardquags77, i'm with u on everything you said...i;ve been to almost all colts games for 5 years now, including today's. it was hard to sit there and watch the final quarter and a half when Painter was put in there

I figured the Jets needed it and the line smelled of Manning resting...People said Dungy was dumb to rest starters and he got a SuperBowl out of it.
Uh, correction - Dungy got his Super Bowl the year they didn't rest the starters. They failed to make the Super Bowl in every year in which they did rest the starters.
And they won't make it to the Bowl this year, either.

The only thing that can erase this is to win the Super Bowl. AND if they do win the Super Bowl, people will always question WHAT IF they won that Jets game and the last game to go perfect. This was a bad move any which way you look at it. Who the hell needs that much rest that you have to sit out the 2H of the 2nd to last game. Then they will sit next week, and their first round bye. That's just too much. They cheated the fans of not only the team, but of the NFL in general. I'm sorry, but I'm rooting against them now.
Me, too!

Bator, with your track record in the playoffs the Colts should be in good shape.
My track record in the playoffs is pretty damn good except for one particular Super Bowl game. Do you ever stop being jealous, LRM704? How many years has it been with you?

I would give my left nut to see the Jets eliminate the Colts from the playoff. All it takes is one hit.
I'm right with ya on that. Ha,ha,ha. But I'll keep my nutz if if happens, Thank You.
This could happen if the Jets face the Bengals who always play down to thier foes. Jets steal the wildcard game and would most likely have to face the Colts next. I am so pulling for this to happen. There would be a riot in Indy if this happens. That would not be cool, but the Jets knocking the Colts out in one game would go down in NFL History.... So the Colts could still make history. Ha,ha,ha.
Let's all hope the game happens.

how does resting your player help you win the super bowl if anything it makes your team rusty its all about dedication. Any bench player that is dedicated can become a star. Remember theres consistant player and garbage players. Any quarterback can throw with pass protection and good recievers. Look at Matt Cassel he was a beast in NE but what happened when he went to KC. What happened to Farve when his line couldn't stop Julius Peppers. All in all I would of made a decision to Play all my players for that perfect record season the coach made a dumb decision you take players out when you have a 20 point lead.Like everyone said why would you play your starters for 2 quarters and then bench them? make know sense and cost many of US money.......so then i say GO Chargers they deserve a superbowl they been rob so many times....

Glad I didn't go to this game and I am glad. They should give you half your money back for the ticket. Since they basically only tried to win half the game.

I am sad that you put your heart and soul into the NFL along with millions other. Everyone that bought a ticket to that COlt game should go home and take a long harfd look in the mirror. The NFL took your money, and stabbed your heart. We are all told by countless over exposed NFL media that every game matters and "we are not looking ahead" "focused on winning todays game" bullshit. Manning stands up there and this Caldwell empty suit idiot. DONT YOU TRY TO WIN EVERY GAME YOU PLAY! I took the Jets by the way becasue the NFL is a racket, but to powerful to be brought down. All this garbage the same day Tampa Freakin' Bay beats New Orleans, what a joke league.
