Leslie Frazier, our buddy almost made a dumb mistake two weeks ago vs Arizona. 

I tend to agree with you - but the key is that they have a great kickoff guy who gets touchbacks with regularity.

If it wasnt so easy to kickoff for touchbacks - the kickoff would be enough to not kick the FG and go for it.  So your biggest danger is the FG itself - getting blocked - because if you make it you are giving them the ball on the 20 needing 80 yards instead of on the 15 needing 45 yards.

So in this case - I actually think he did the right thing.

But jeez - talk about the razors edge difference between winning and losing betting the NFL.

That last ATL drive was crazy between the missed tackles and the clock.  Total coinflip.

what's this irish tim guy all about?

terrible tackling by dallas.  the scandrick one was bad but there were several, mainly by dallas db's, that were costly before that.

on the other hand, bryant missed two fg's he usually makes.  this was just a bad read on my part.  dallas in a must win playing good defense and atlanta basically has their division locked up and will be hard to maintain intensity each week.  i figured dallas would have the motivational edge.  not everyone on this team gives a shit.  i'm not sure what to do with dallas the rest of the season.  i;'m still down on atlanta.  then again, i may go broke betting against them this season.

Don't understand how Scandrick misses that tackle, that fucker is right there in front of you, its not like he was juking him or anything, he's right there, wrap him up and bring his ass down...that was costly, if he slowed him down, then it would have chewed up more clock.  So pissed right now.  Huge loss for me.

Well - you do state correctly a TD beats you - but you are ignoring the FG - by kicking a FG you are taking the FG out of Dallas hands.

I just think that when you analyze it - Dallas could have had a long FG with about 45 yards if ATL goes for it and doesnt get it.  With a touchback a virtual certainty - they need 80.

Close call - but if I was on the sideline I would have kicked it too.

How about the non offensive pass interference when Claiborne was in position for the int, shortly after they called defensive holding.  Very tough loss for Dallas backers.

I disagree with this. Falcons win a playoff game. Smith threw the ball at the end with 3 minutes left.
He played to win and the FG was absolutely the right call, as Van points out.

It wasnt a bad read at all.

It was coaching.  On both sides of the dallas offense and defense.  Defense was unprepared - and never adjusted to the 15 yard slot receiver being wide open.

On offense - the playcalling is horrific.  So many drivekillers - like 3rd and 1 at midfield.  Here is Jason Garrett giving cliche answers - but he has proven he doesnt have a grasp on playcalling and the game in general.

Lets be honest - literally there were a dozen plays that could have decided that game.  ATL fg before HT, and that last drive had about 5.

i agree, dallas easily could have won with the right gameplan.  but i overrated dallas's ability to compete in a game like that whether it was coaching, defensive intensity, etc.  atlanta is solid but they are clearly beatable.  there will be a good opportunity or two to bet against them in the playoffs.

Im telling you - the key for teams like Dallas is the yards / points ratio.  Theirs is pretty bad.  A sure sign of bad coaching, and if consistent - a sure sign of a losing team.

But tonight could have been won by either team.  This was the kind of game you feel lucky to win, unlucky to lose - but unhappy you had any money on it either way.
