Great point Minion. I really think this ego shit really can ruin a team. Chemistry is so important in TEAM sports these days ( ie look at Mavs vs HEAT) When one player gets waaaayyy too much attention AND CREDIT, cracks begin surfacing

Forget everything else, put any other QB in the same 7 game stretch that Tebow had and you could count on one hand theones that could post a record better than his. He is clutch and he is a winner which is more than I can say about 80% of the QBs in this league.

Nice to see a Tebow doubter have the balls to admit they were wrong about the kid.

Tebow could win 3 super bowls over the next 5 years and sparky would still be claiming he was right about him sucking.

I was a Tebow hater in the beginning but started giving him credit 3 weeks ago.

The bottom line is it doesnt matter if it is pretty or if it is ugly. The guy wins and it is hard to say he sucks after what he has accomplished in the past month plus, no matter who Denver has been playing.

Time to give the guy some credit. I stopped reading this thread after the 8th page so if you did.

The best part of this team right now is its d. When you are outgained 2-1 on every game it seems how is the o pulling their weight? Tebow is just being a good manager. All he is doing is dilfers job on the ravens the sb year. I'm glad you're happy and winning money (me as well the last three weeks) but how can you not possibly laugh at how it us happening???!!! The kid took over a shitty 1-4 team that had thrown in the towel and went 6-1 as starter and got them to 1st place. Anyone who thinks a player that can do that “sucks” is beyond ignorant.

Oh, and Tebow had a passer rating of 149.3 yesterday. Not bad for “a fullback playing QB.”

Trent Dilfer had one of the greatest defenses of all time.

Tim Tebow has a defense that ranks 24th this season.

To compare the two is asinine.

That great defense gave up 32 points yesterday. Tebow was the reason they still won. It’s sad when people refuse to admit when they were wrong and give credit where credit is due.

Tim Tebow's career stats:

116-240 for 1,708 yards 15TD's with 4 INT's, 2 FMBL.

125 carries for 695 yards 9TD's. (5.6 yards per carry.)

Looks like a guy that can play the QB position in the NFL and that is consistent at doing it.

That is 24 TD's with 6 turnovers for a guy that supposedly can't help move the Broncos offense week in and week out, move the ball on offense.

Pretty good numbers for a guy that play QB in the NFL.

7-3 record overall.

Looks like a QB that can win in the NFL to me.

5 fourth quarter comebacks in 10 starts in the NFL.

The most 4th quarter comebacks by any QB in NFL history, in their first 10 starts in the NFL.

Those numbers prove to me that he is a "clutch" QB late in the game, for a guy that can't play QB in the NFL.

Just looking at his overall game in the NFL OBJECTIVELY, how can one say that he "sucks" is beyond me?

I love how these people can't come up with a comptetant theory of why the Broncos D couldnt win with Orton, but they can with Tebow.

Let's look at this with Tebow in mind. I highlighted in BOLD what I think really highlights Tebow at his present level in his career.

The NFL quarterback can be a very interesting character and it is seldom that a team does well without a quality signal-caller. There have been a few teams that have won with dominant defenses or superstars at the running back or wide receiver position.

However, even quarterbacks in these types of situations have had to manage the game and minimize their mistakes.

A quarterback in the NFL does not have to throw for 400 yards for a team to win. But, they must make solid throws at key times and they have to avoid turnovers.

Every year, teams draft their quarterbacks of the future, but some turn out to be absolute disasters. With that in mind, here are a few thoughts on the quarterback position and what traits are needed for them to be truly great.

The arm

Obviously, an NFL quarterback must be able to throw the ball. The QB must have a strong arm, but they must also be accurate with their throws. It is one thing to throw a ball 50 yards down the field to an open receiver. It is another thing to fit a ball into a small space between a linebacker and a defense back or float a throw over the top of a defensive secondary. The problem with evaluating arms is that franchises can fall in love with a strong arm and assume it is attached to an active brain.

The feet

In some cases, feet are just as important as the throwing arm. For NFL quarterbacks, it isn't just about foot speed, as few quarterbacks have blazing quickness down the field. Rather, it may simply be the ability to sidestep a defensive player that is flying through a hole or have the balance to step a few feet outside the pocket as it begins to collapse.

Making decisions

Ultimately, the quarterback needs to make decisions, and in many cases they must make them in a split-second. Again, a strong arm helps but if a quarterback throws a ball up for grabs when they get in trouble, they may throw a lot of interceptions.

The ability to make decisions often separates the adequate quarterback from the star quarterback as the elite QB can adapt to their environment and make solid decisions.

People often call this “poise,” and it refers to the ability to apply what they know to pressure-filled situations without dissolving into panic.

The offensive line

In all honesty, the offensive line is often the key to a successful quarterback. The QB may have all of the traits listed here, but if their offensive line falls apart on every play, it may not matter. A solid O-line can't create a good quarterback, but it can certainly buy them some time. Throughout history, many quarterbacks have had a few years of solid offensive line play, which has allowed them to build confidence and success.

Thinking things through

An NFL quarterback doesn't have to be a rocket scientist, but it does help if they can understand the complex offenses and defenses that are used in the National Football League. Teams employ all sorts of strategies during the game, and they can change them completely from play to play. This means that a quarterback must have the cognitive ability to understand what they are looking at. For many quarterbacks, this connects to their work ethic. Some quarterbacks have been drafted and paid huge sums of money before they even put on a uniform. Unfortunately, some of those signal callers have assumed that their ability would carry them. However, hard work still counts, even when people have a lot of talent. When people look around the NFL, some of the best quarterbacks are those that put in the work and do not take their position or ability for granted.

I think Tebow fits almost all of this criteria, so far in his young criteria, but still has a lot of places that he needs to improve.

He actually said, it doesnt matter if the defense allowed 32 pts, if they dont stop the Vikings on their last possesion, the Broncos don't win. therefore, the Broncos D won that game.

Do you just copy and paste your posts now because I don't respond to them? I've responded once and you just keep talking about how he's 6-1 and how I eat crow and how Tebow is winning.

Tebow isn't a good quarterback and, in time, you will be the one eating crow. I like you...but it seems that ALL you have is that he's 6-1 and took a losing team and made them a winning team. That doesn't mean anything to my assessment of how he'll be in the future.

What good is making a thread, after the fact that he's fallen off the wagon, to say that he's bad? All I did was say it before hand. I'm pretty much predicting his future. Plain and simple. And can't eat crow after a half season sample size. Ala Orton's 6-0 Denver start when he first came over.

And how would you like for me to respond to his article? Do you want me to find an article on why Tebow will fail as a rebuttle? How do you respond to an article?

I have a question that nobody seems to ever answer. Why, if he's such a winner, should losing to a good team like the Patriots mean nothing and only beating average to below average team give him the title of a great, winning, quarterback?

I'm not saying that ONLY beating good teams would make the case that he's good. But lets see what happens when the competition gets tougher. He faces a solid defense this week and a great team the week after. What if he loses 2 in a row? Will he be shook? Can he bounce back? He's never been put in that spot before. Who's to say he'll come out of that fine? And who am I to say he won't?

There are so many questions that have no answers because it's all speculation. And that is where I stand in my arguement. I'm speculating that Tebow will fall off the wagon the more he plays and the tougher his competition gets and the more defenses adapt to his style of offense. Lets not forget that he's changing the game of football with this offense. He's playing his Florida type of offense while most other teams are playing more conventional.
