And it's not like Pat White never got the chance to play, because he did.

    Sound familiar?

Who are you to degrade Pat White? If I can't degrade Tim Tebow...than why can you degrade Pat White?

And did the Miami offense throw out the entire playbook to play West Virginia style football like the Broncos did for Tebow?

You can hate on all the shitty players you want, but when you hate on a guy WHO HAS DONE NOTHING BUT WIN HIS ENTIRE LIFE

I draw the line. Pat White never won one game as a starter, let alone take a team from the brink of elimination to a playoff contender.

Oh yeah you are right. I forgot, the packers arent 9-0

They are 25-4 because thats Aaron Rodgers Td/Int rate.

Damn when did they start keeping standing based on completions, i must have missed that.

Pat White pissed away a shot at a national title at WVU when they were #2 in the country and dumped to an unranked Pitt team at home. No excuse for that loss.

Unless you count RIchRod's decision to take the Michigan job at the half........

Never Make A Winner A Loser. Never.

Sparky is usually a pretty reasonable and rational guy.

I think he might be just pissed that the Jets lost.

SO now we are basing things on his completion rate, I think Sanchez had a better completion rate, how did that work out for him, Vick has a better completion rate, hows that working out for him, Cam Newton has a better completion rate how is his team doing?   You want to count all the stats but the MOST Important one, WINS.

Sparky, everyone points at the 2 for 8 last week, but you're glossing over the fact Broncos ran almost 60 carries and had what 270 yards of rushing. I wouldn't pass the ball either if I could run like that.

Tebow also won 2 national championships, how many did White Win?

Florida's team had more than Tim Tebow on them. Don't even compare the Gators to West Virginia. The Gators' teams were stacked.

But what do national championships have to do with anything? College success means nothing. Troy Smith. Reggie Bush. Matt Leinhart, Chris Winke, Jason White...the list goes on. Just a few Heisman Trophy winners to do nothing.

okay I apologize Sparky as I am alittle hyped about how much $ Tebow has made me the last few weeks. He obviously has flaws but the dude is a STRAIGHT WINNER.

...and thats good enough for me

I'm done backing Tebow for the night, all I'm going to say is if you fade him you might as well donate that money to charity.

    Go fins!

Agree with Sykes, it's what you do with all the stats that count. You just cannot turn the ball over. One turnover usually counts anywhere from 40-80 yards worth of value. Just look at tonight's game. McGahee turns it over=Jets points. McKnight turnover didn't directly lead to points, but that field position backed up Sanchez and eventually there was the pick 6.

For the record pat white did have an oppurtunity, he rolled left down the sideline and suffered a career ending concussion. He was equivilent to Martin gramatica playing qb at 165 pounds

Highschool success + college success + Nfl success + life success = greatness.

I'm a Giants fan and, it's not that I hate the Jets, but I hate Rex Ryan and his pathetic antics. I just hate all this praise that Tebow is getting. I've always been on the side that has said he won't be successful. And yes...he's doing more than I had expected. But that was after the coach threw out his entire game plan to give Tebow a shot. I just don't think he's good. He has the ability to drive the field in close games. He's a born winner. But right now he's not facing teams that are relevant. When he starts beating teams that are relevant...than call him great. But after 5 starts against some bad teams..."great" is just absurd.

And now the new saying is "They just got Tebowed". Really? It's just stupid. I don't even care about how he prays after touchdowns. Yea..."Thank God for opening those holes for me" or whatever he prays for. I just think it's dumb to praise him like this.

Like I said...I'm a Giants fan. I was happy that they were winning to start the season...but I wasn't overracting because of WHO they beat. Just like last season when they started how they did against terrible teams just to play terrible down the road when good competition came.

I judge teams/players based on competition. If you beat Kansas City, Miami, Indy, Minnesota and the Rams and get excited over those wins...you won't know what hit you when you face a good team...like when the Broncos played the Lions. And like the Broncos wont know what hit them when they face the Patriots and Bears.

How about that 95 yard TD drive? Tim Tebow accounted for 92 of them    BUT LETS SAY THAT WAS THE DEFENSE TOO...

But how can you consider this "success" is my question. It's 5 starts. I'm not going to get a list...but I'm sure there's a large number of 1-hit wonders in the history of sports.

I never denied that from being a great drive. Against a great defense. I wonder how he would be if he looked at every other drive in the game like he does the game winning drive.

But the defense DID have something to do with that. Had they not had a pick-6...would he have done that drive 5 minutes earlier so he'd have a chance to go for THAT drive?

You're right. It is what have you done for me lately. But if you get a weak schedule and then face a good team...you won't know what hit you. Meaning...if they're lucky enough to make the playoffs...they're easily one and done because they won't be able to overcome a GOOD team.

    Good point.

So I stand by my "if" on the Broncos making the playoffs and I'll change the first "if" to WHEN.

WHEN you get a weak schedule and then face a good team...you won't know what hit you.

Vince Young used to "win" to. How'd that end up. Mike Vick is Tebow, only a much better an faster runner. Also a 100 times better passer, an he can't even win. Tebow can't even hit a routine pass in the nfl. If this team D doesn't show up like vs Detroit this offense has zero chance of comnig back. Tebow can't make rountine throws an has a sub 50% career completion percentage. This isn't long term success guys. Right Vince?
