They really should tank the rest of their games to get better draft position because they need a talent infusion. No they haven't given up yet but they should.

Don't know why the Gmen aren't favored by more but it might be because this is the game they start playing the back ups to see what they can do

Giants don't tank for draft picks. You have to go back to 2003 for a 4 win team and then to the early 80's for teams that were 4 wins or worse in the early Parcell's years when he was trying to build something.

Giants will NOT be playing backups here.

They have a new offense and will use the rest of the year to fine tune it, while trying to get out of this huge hole they dug.

    Coughlin doesn't tank:

6 wins his first year in a rebuilding year

7 wins once (last year after starting 0-6)

    8 wins twice

    9 wins twice

    10 wins twice

11 wins once 12 wins once

This 3 win mark is really uncharted waters at this point in the season for Coughlin!

They got a great draft pick this year and don't need a QB. No need to tank for one (despite their lack of depth in many areas, you don't, as players and coaches collectively, tank for a standout O-Lineman of the future).

Giants are one of the exceptions to the rule in that regard.

Now the Jets vs. the Dolphins on MNF. Will the Jets come to play? I have no idea. No one does.

The Giants come to play even in bad years (again, 0-6 last year finished 7-9).

The bad news: Bortles has tallied 15 picks, five fumbles and just eight passing TDs, along with an impossibly low 21.8 QBR. That’s really, really, really, really dreadful. Scal I've followed your threads for a long time and your analysis is almost always spot on. You lost several plays on horrible occurrences and moose's with the exception of the Jets/Bills game which I happened to tail you on..Was that not the lay down of all lay down games? Anyway.. I just finished reading LC analysis and your analysis as well.. I poured your write up into a shaker and poured LC's writeup into the same shaker, I shook it good, several times, and poured my self a drink.. The drink is Blue Scal...  Will be making a small play on the Gmen.

Another difficult game (difficult because it seems too easy). Saints may have some pressure off, now that they are playing away, but if the weather is cold, wet and nasty (like it is supposed to be), I just don't see them doing well under those conditions. I'll probably make a small play on the Steelers.

    Oh they've quit this year.

Here's what I wrote in another thread.

Since they beat Cleveland, here is how the Jags have 'gotten better':

vs. Miami at home - Lost 27-13 (Trailed 27-6 until they scored a TD with 2:19 left in the game)

@ Bengals - Lost 33-23 (Trailed 26-10 until 9:55 in the fourth. Scored a TD to make it 26-16. A deep in their own territory turnover by the Bengals results in a quick TD run by Denard Robinson to make it much close at 26-23. With the Jags now actually in the game, the Bengals get the ball back and Jeremy Hill snaps off a SIXTY yard TD run to quash all hopes for the Jags. 33-23 final)

vs. Dallas in London Loss 31-17

Trailed 31-7 until 7:55 in the fourth where a holding call on Dallas resulted in a safety for the Jags. 31-9.

Denard Robinson scores a TD with 1:53 left in the game to make it 31-17.

    Vs. the Colts Lose 23-3.

Despite 3 turnovers, the Colts cruise in the second half shutting out Jax while Jax only manages 194 total yards in the game.

Mostly coz of Eli and Coughlin. Honestly Coughlin is a hall of fame coach and Eli is a magician but enough is enough. They SHOULD give up. They need draft picks and the higher the better

The players? Do you think Beckham will lay down as he becomes one of the faces of the league at his position?

Do you think Eli lays down? When has that happened?

Do you think Jennings (RB) lays down? He's fighting for a job.

Players are playing. Coaches are coaching. It's amazing to me to say the Jags, with no history, no pride, no motivation and no championships are going to be more motivated with one win to take out the 3 win Giants (as though that is going to be a big emotional win??). They might play hard. But not harder than the Giants and they certainly aren't more talented.

And with a line of 3, all you have to do is beat them on the road. That's not asking a lot.

Hey Scal! Hi All, The first question we should always be asking ourselves is, What is good for the NFL. Its all about the money. Sorry to disappoint any of you purest, but it is about greedy rich men making as much money as they can, nobody really cares if somebody loses a job. Just like the work world we all live in, there are plenty of replacements, if they can make a viable fan base in Jacksonville, they will throw your darling Giants in a fire this afternoon.  I had to sit and watch my money burn, as the friggin Steelers threw a game to the Jets a few weeks ago, Does anyone want to argue the point that the Steelers threw that game??? Would love to hear some bs about that. Do I know the exact reason why the Steeler Franchise threw that game to the Jets, NO, but I do know it was in the interest of making money. Hope that helps. Peace. O Yeah, ps, if you got this far and you have any good picks for me I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank You for your time.

    What shortsighted approach?

Did you read the write-up? Did you read my detailed responses to every single one of Summa's counters?

Did you read what I said in LC's thread where I broke down every single fallacy he had in his write-up?

The post you are quoting is one of a dozen counterpoints outside of the OP and other threads.

If you knew what you were talking about, you wouldn't take ONE POST where I ultra-briefly addressed the Jaguars motivation (which not a single poster has yet to prove to me they have more willingness to win one here than the Giants do, and they've proven that week after the week after week) in comparison to the Giants motivation.

Do you think that is MY ONLY reason for backing the Giants here?

If you do, you are an even bigger fool you've proven yourself to be because you just exposed yourself to others here that you can't even pass a basic reading comprehension course.

    And this statement:

Not sure who you are trying to convince either.

Are you some kind of fu**in dumba** or are these two sentences a joke?

I hope they are a joke.

This is a message board you idiot. The purpose is to share ideas and present stances to support your side.

"Not sure who you are trying to convince" Huh? Are there other posters here who read threads or not? Are they looking for an angle or a trend or a tidbit of information to choose a side or not?

If not, why the fu** would they click on a thread.

Better, why the fu** would YOU click on this thread or any thread for that matter?

Because your a mindless clicking idiot who likes to play with a mouse?

You can find thousands of reasons to take a team with a better record on a short line vs. a team with only 1 win.

You can? What are they? Did you open this thread and did I spew, "Giants are better! Book it!" No I gave you a detailed OP and detailed responses not some rah-rah-rah pom-pom waving this team is better than that team crap.

Now I'm looking for you to tell me the reason why I should take the team with 1 win over the Giants (and I wouldn't care if the Giants had zero wins in this spot). Can you give me any? LC did. And I countered...all of them.

Go in that thread and give counters to my counters or shut your trap kid.

    Think long, think wrong.

Guess you got it all figured out.  BOL to you!!  Keep typin' brotha!

I used to be a big supporter.  I admired your wagering restraint and knowledge.  heck, I even had a crush on you and fantasized about your milky white skin, flaming red hair, and freckles on your face (and maybe even down below).

but now, I've lost all interest.  you used to post rarely--you picked your spots, but now you've gone over the edge and make picks all the time, and seemingly randomly.

    good-bye, my love.

Sup brother.  Changed my mind.  Going to tail you on the Giants.  It is a trap, but I see you winning this game and shutting up all of your haters!  Go Scal! Let's do this.
