this is a weird game scal, the only reason the Giants don't just give up is because they actually love Coughlin and Eli is so good. They have no defensive line, the pass rush is absolutely pathetic, the run game is mediocre, the secondary only has one legitimate NFL starter, there roster is just barren right now
They really should tank the rest of their games to get better draft position because they need a talent infusion. No they haven't given up yet but they should.
Don't know why the Gmen aren't favored by more but it might be because this is the game they start playing the back ups to see what they can do
Giants don't tank for draft picks. You have to go back to 2003 for a 4 win team and then to the early 80's for teams that were 4 wins or worse in the early Parcell's years when he was trying to build something.
Giants will NOT be playing backups here.
They have a new offense and will use the rest of the year to fine tune it, while trying to get out of this huge hole they dug.
Coughlin doesn't tank:
6 wins his first year in a rebuilding year
7 wins once (last year after starting 0-6)
8 wins twice
9 wins twice
10 wins twice
11 wins once 12 wins once
This 3 win mark is really uncharted waters at this point in the season for Coughlin!
They got a great draft pick this year and don't need a QB. No need to tank for one (despite their lack of depth in many areas, you don't, as players and coaches collectively, tank for a standout O-Lineman of the future).
