PACERS THREAD FROM A LOCAL
Here are the 1st half totals from the Pacers first 4 games.
Magic-84
Pelicans-86
Cavs-80
Pistons-84
It's starting to look like the 1st half under has a lot of value with this team. I don't have a definite idea why, but here are my thoughts.
1. No fouling late in the game with a bunch of late free throws.
2. Looks like the Pacers are feeling out their opponents in the first half, going to the locker room, making adjustments, and then taking control in the 2nd half.
3. Pacers are not a team that will have a lot of runs, and they don't allow runs either. The Heat, Spurs, Clippers, Rockets, etc. are teams that can score 20 pts in a few minutes. Pacers aren't built that way. They run the shot clock down, run set plays, and then clog the defensive end. Teams won't be able to have those big runs that can take a half total over.
Those are my thoughts...I'll look into it a little more.

He drives a lot to the hole, but this Pacers team should be able to make life difficult for him at the rim. I don't know if we have the speed to keep up with him on the perimeter (not many teams do), but he is struggling with his shot.
No official word on George Hill, but Vogel said he hopes to have him tonight...I think he will play. I think he could've played last night, but they wanted him ready to go tonight.
Boozer has been playing good this year, but the Pacers have 4 guys on the front line to rotate in and out of the lineup. This is one team the Bulls big men can't wear down.
Overall, when Derrick Rose is healthy and back into his rhythm later on this year, I think the Bulls would win a 7 game series...BUT...and this is a big BUT. If Paul George keeps up this pace (which I didn't think he was capable of), this might be the best team in the league, and I may have to rethink my pick of the Bulls in a 7 game series.
Back to this game...I'm going to put 2 small wagers on this game. Sticking with 1st half under, and Bulls team total under 90. I said if there was a team total 90 and above, I would play the under...I'll stick with it. Remember, this is a long season...gotta be in this for the long term.
Interesting pieces of info: Hibbert is averaging 8 pts a game...David West is averaging 10. Pacers are winning, and their big men aren't even scoring a ton of points.
The Pacers are so deep, Chris Copeland can't even get off the bench. Read an article about it yesterday. He seems to be in good spirits and he was even quoted as saying, "We have a great team...I'll just be ready when they need me". Copeland would be the 6th or 7th guy on other teams roster...he can't even get garbage minutes on this team. Apparently, the Pacers signed him (why the Knicks let him go, I'll never know) and after they signed him Luis Scola became available and fell into their lap. It sucks for Copeland...I love his skill set...I hope he gets out there to show what he can do.

Once again, great insight alan. Im born and raised in Greenwood indy, so i too am very familiar with the Pacers, but am somewhat new to the gambling. Obviously the toughest thing to do is to bet against your favorite team, so most of the time, if i dont like the spot, instead of betting against them, ill jsut lay off the game! not the smartest tactic, but just cannot stand to bet against my team! Anyways, great insight and i look forward to using alot of it in the very near future, sir! I will be at the game tonight, and waiting till tip to see if i can get a better line, (pk, or -1) and take it for small, just to add a little something to sweeten the pot while i sit back and watch my Pacers do work!!!
BOL and thanks again ![]()

Hibbert is a beast right now on the defensive end. 5 more blocks tonight...this is getting in teams heads and they are not driving to the hole with confidence, and most shots by the basket are fade aways.
Hidden Box Scores Stats you may miss: Mahinmi and Scola played 26 minutes. On the defensive end, they didn't miss a beat, and Scola put in 12 pts. Luis Scola has legit scoring attributes, and he's coming off the bench...massive advantage Pacers in all matchups this year.
D. Sloan played 21 minutes tonight...Point Guard is the biggest weakness for this team (or we thought). He put in 9 pts, 6 reb, 4 asst. CJ Watson had 11 pts and 5 asst. When George Hill comes back, if this team gets this type of production out of the point guard position, we could be looking at the best team in the league. Obviously, this isn't going to last all year, but Ill be looking for when the Pacers have a few bad games in a row, and then look at some Eastern Conference, and Season Championship futures.
As for now, I'll keep riding the first half unders, opponent Team Total unders, and possibly second half overs.

Carlos...The over may hit, but I disagree with your reasoning about playing the Nets. This team will fight just about every night on defense. They have a deep enough bench to keep fresh legs, and fresh energy on the floor. It's one of the reasons I like this team so much in the regular season. Back to backs, and road trips won't affect this team like it will other teams. There could be some garbage points at the end of the game if the Pacers really take control of the game...that's one reason I like the first half unders with the Pacers.

For the life of me I just can't figure out why people keep trying to play the first half overs on the Pacers. That makes this 7 in a row. If you're a trend bettor, the Pacers have typically dominated in the second half, and the second half overs have been popular.
I've got the Nets under 94 team total (Pacers opponent with a team total over 90-take the under) as we've discussed in this thread before. I'll probably put a little bit on the Pacers, and the 2nd half over for this game, but not a huge wager.
