If he lets them get away with it there will be many mor trying it, doesn't mean he's having money problems, but he does have a business to protect.

Didn't MC Hammer have a boatload of money and lose it.  I am not saying Jordan is broke, but it is not out of the realm of possibility.

Jordan has an image that is worth future billions. It took many years and the work of many people to build. Why should he let a couple of freeloading grocery stores get an edge on their competition by using his likeness without paying for it like everyone else has to. Oh yeah losers, his gambling losses I'm sure, are relative to to his net worth. He'll never go broke, no matter how many of you haters don't ever buy a pair of his sneaks. If his gambling losses make you angry, maybe you need to earn a little more money . That way, that C-note you drop every month at the Indian casino won't equate to your son wearing "Spare Affordins' instead of Air Jordans. Gambling is still legal losers!

i doubt he's going broke but maybe he is trying to picking up a few extra mil to continue his current spending pace. 168 millions dollars will put a dent in anyones checkbook regardless of how much they made before or may be losing gambling

By the way, I've seen Jordan on the course with Jimmy Connors and a couple of local hacks who own a Chevrolet Dealership. They were playing 10 grand a hole . Even if he lost all 18 which I assure you he did not, that doesn't even match what he sold in hats and wristbands for the 5 hours he spent out there.

Suing them for $10 million. Fucking bush league. Sure they might have been in the wrong, however, Chicago fuckin' worships this guy and his name and face are still all over the place. As if he couldn't have just as easily asked them to stop the ads, etc. Reason why, cuz he is running out of money.

With his extensive, continual gambling loses, and his $168 million divorce settlement, it is no surprise he is having money problems. He just sued two of his hometown grocery stores (Jewel and Dominicks) cuz they took his Hall of Fame congratulations a little too far and featuring him in an advertisement . Suing them for $10 million. Fucking bush league. Sure they might have been in the wrong, however, Chicago fuckin' worships this guy and his name and face are still all over the place. As if he couldn't have just as easily asked them to stop the ads, etc. Reason why, cuz he is running out of money.

People with the ability to throw anything up on the internet just for attention. I suggest before starting false rumors and possibly becoming a lawsuit yourself (slander) you do some research.

Forbes list him #18 in celebrity top 100 saying his 2009 income at $45 million. Also made the same in 2008 according to Forbes.

    Little follow up on royalties.

Now let's look at the second kind of income. This is known as "residual income", "royalty income", or "passive income". Who earns this income? World-class athletes like Michael Jordan, entertainers like Elvis Presley, & publishers like J. K. Rolling who wrote the Harry Potter series.

On the surface, talent aside, it seems there's no difference between Michael Jordan, Elvis, & J. K. Rolling. After all, they all suited up & showed up in their professions. That's true… but they all have one thing in common that separates their income from job holders. They all signed contracts that say they will always get paid a royalty commission anytime a consume buys what they endorsed or produced.

    - As long as Nike airs its "Air Jordan" shoes ad on TV that ad earns Michael Jordan a royalty commission.
    - As long as people continue to by Elvis songs & radio stations play them Pricilla Presley (Elvis' daughter) will continue to receive royalty checks.
    - J. K. Rolling will continue to receive royalty checks as long as people buy Harry Potter books.

Michael Jordan, Elvis Presley, & J. K. Rolling all did their thing right once & continue to get paid. And here's another cool thing about royalty income.Prisilla Presley will receive $25 Million in 2008 for work her father did 30 years ago. That means both Michael & J. K. Rolling can stop working today, still get paid, & then pass those royalties on to their heirs.
