With his extensive, continual gambling loses, and his $168 million divorce settlement, it is no surprise he is having money problems. He just sued two of his hometown grocery stores (Jewel and Dominicks) cuz they took his Hall of Fame congratulations a little too far and featuring him in an advertisement . Suing them for $10 million. Fucking bush league. Sure they might have been in the wrong, however, Chicago fuckin' worships this guy and his name and face are still all over the place. As if he couldn't have just as easily asked them to stop the ads, etc. Reason why, cuz he is running out of money.

MJ can lose that much because he has that much... even if he gives 200 million to divorce he still has checks from endorsements and bobcats income...

Suing the store does not mean he is losing money even if you are that rich are still a citizen of this country... I think this is more of a principles issue rather than easy money for him... Read the article and I really think his name and image was used... and he has the right as any other poor middle class or rich person to sue.

Jordan has been a known huge gambler for years, Tahoe and Vegas. But because he is sueing someone for using his image, that doesn't mean he has no money. Jordan has to many sources of revenue to be going broke. Jordan brand, Bobcats, Hanes, BB Camps etc...

So what's the point of suing two local companies he actually shops at for $10 million? Just tell them to take down those ads. It's called a classy move. What does he need the $10 million for if he has that much money? Who came up with that outlandish figure? I bet he gets $10k at best for being a little bitch. If I was the judge, I'd be like Mr Jordan, you supposedly have billions, what do you need another $10 million for. Stop and think before you sue.

    And yes Curb is awesome.

I think it is more of a statement to let everyone else know not to fuck with him or his image.

How has being a minority owner(small percentage)  of the bobcats  given him any money? The b-cats have never been in the black,or green for money. They are losing their azz as a franchise.Jordan is a stiff, and is terrible as a businessman.Look it up.....his only trade in life was basketball.....barkley is the same way,and they are 2 peas in a pod. It's no wonder tiger got in so much trouble after hanging with these 2 schlubs.Find smoke, and fire is right behind it.

He will never run out of money, that's for sure.  But it shows you how destructive gambling is in a man's life.

Dateline on Tiger told of all the "Backroom" shanangans with Jordan and Barkley specifically.  Jordan has been a big time gambler for a long time.  If there is truth to his now being close to broke, there couldn't be a more epic financial meltdown for one of the highest paid athletes in sport's history.

Translation...keep gambling and don't worry about the repercussions until you have to.

Jordan and Barkley are degenerates that have no respect for money.  I used to like Barkley, but he staunchly defended Tiger for NOT owning up to his problems.  Charles used to provide some valuable social commentary.  Now he just has diarrhea of the mouth.  And Jordan is a horrible minority owner and a prick.  I'm surprised Hanes even uses a guy with a washed up image in Jordan to make their gay commercials.  Cuba Gooding, Kevin Bacon, or Charlie Sheen stalking Jordan and talking about his underwear is the epitome of queer.

Was anyone watching the TNT game of Phoenix vs Portland last Thursday?  Barkley was tripping all over himself talking about the Suns and their play against good teams and bad teams and Ernie Johnson was doing everything in his powers to help bail Barkley out and Charles could not grasp the handle.  It was a sad moment for sports commentary...

Charles needs to play the role of clown on TNT telecasts.  When Ernie ribs him in good fun, he should play along.  But Barkley has become too full of himself, and if he keeps it up, he will lose that cushy job and good income.  Chris Webber and Kenny Smith will be ample support for Ernie and TNT's excellent studio show.

He has got to be on the way out.  Through the gambling debacle they stuck with him, but his head is so out of the game right now.  He didn't know anything about what he was talking about with the Suns losing to good teams and dominating bad teams when they really have been competitive with both.  If I was cringing watching him fumble, the directors and producers must have been infuriated.

Tolerance for ineptitude is short given the state of the world.  If Barkley survives 2010 I will be shocked.
