    I'm taking the nine.
It's not about rest or no rest.... this team makes no sense what so ever and absolutely sucks balls on 1 day lay offs. They could have 4 back to backs in a row and play better than having a 1 day lay off.

1 day breaks are the most common in between game rest days in the league... explains why the Cavs are 20+ games under .500.

Aside from that Brooklyn has not laid down in any spot they have been in since getting blown out in Portland by 30+ points a month ago. We buried them in Dallas... they come back and abuse them on the road.... buried them in New orleans on a brutal back to back stretch they fight in that one too.... (they had that game locked but let it slip).... Had them losing to hungry Charlotte team that hasn't beaten them in a while.... punched them right back and forced OT with them again....

Love all your write ups and as always excellent points.... Brooklyn is a horrible match up for the Cavs to begin with coupled with the spot I gotta go the other way tonight.

Everyone is a horrible matchup for the Cavs. They are bottom feeders.

And I say the one day layoff doesn't matter because, as I tried to reiterate throughout, something like that would apply to a game in mid-January, but not near the beginning of April with teams scratching and clawing for their playoff lives, verses ones just fighting for seeding, like the nets who are firmly entrenched in the pack.

For me, those 'one day rest' trends fly out of the window tonight and the game will be decided by who wants it more. The Cavs have clearly shown they are making one last desperate push. It almost certainly won't be enough but until the Hawks start winning, the Cavs will continue to gain ground.

For Brooklyn you are right, they have impressed. But these last two OT games shocked me, and both featured Deron's best performances of the season. That had to be unsettling to the team and him. Now he will have his work cut out for him in a backcourt that is really trying to make up for everything it wasn't all year in Waiters and JJack.

They just had to get themselves to believe.

That happened at the Garden last Saturday.

Now they fly back to the scene of the crime where they stole an 8 game winning streak and had the Knicks reeling before the win against the Kings.

Same city, same situation. Time to steal another. And we are handed 9 (now 8).

Time to start believing. It looks like they've been doing such that the last 7 days. All we need is another 48 minutes of that to cash. Keep it close and let JJ win it.

For Nets fans, that JJ better be Joe Johnson because the other JJ, Jarrett Jack is coming to their house and he has a black ski mask on.

yes network pregame makin comments about how this could be the first time a team plays 4 OT games in a row... would love it if the writers at NBA make it so, only to have a missed last second layup leavim everything within the 9 point cushion. a wild longshot indeed but it is the nba, where amazing(ly planned things) happen.

Marcus Thornton is a go. Didn't want to see him but I'm not going to avoid capping a game because of a game time decision for Marcus Thornton. Cavs motivation and goal remains the same regardless.

That would be amazing wouldn't it. 9 would be wonderful to have heading to OT. I'd obviously settle for a 1 - 2 point victory either way I. Regulation though....

Cavs have demonstrated time and time again they can weather big deficits. That was one of the keys to capping it in the OP. Let's just sit tight.

Cavs season is on the line and the Cavs have done this going down big 4 of the last 6. This was a bad quarter but this is a bad team and this was not unexpected.

The foul with two seconds was killer or else we are on the number.

But that is what bad teams do and we have to deal with it. A semi-solid third makes up for it. And with the season on the line we should see that.

This game is supposed to be nothing like the kings Knicks. Totally different landscape and circumstances.

All hail the Halftime Doomsday Brigade!!!

Jesus, some of you kids never cease to amaze me. Unless this is your 1st NBA game, you should know by now the ht score literally means nothing. Team A up by 20 points can and will lose SU.....Just take your zanex and wait.....

Get these jerkoffs get off to a decent start any quarter?  All 4 quarters they start off getting killed.

Got -8 on cavs. I cashed out at the late 3rd qtr when they got down to 7. Knew they wont keep up with nets. Lack of penetration, settling for jumpers and lack of bench pts.
