Well I am back...

For those of you who believed that I would just vanish into the night and not show me face ever again on covers are completely wrong.  I was obviously on the wrong side last night because I lost my bet.  Do I feel that I capped the game correctly, yes...I thought the Celts would come out slow and that would be enough for the Mavs to do it, and I was right about the Celts coming out slow, but I can not control what happened after that.

With that all being said, I would like to address one thing after reading everyone's posts since the end of the game...

I used the title of this thread morever to get a lot of people into this thread to discuss this game...the whole rep thing is what it is...nothing really...its not like I am going to quit capping and posting picks because I lost last night.  I was just trying to make it known that i thought the Mavs were a strong play.  I ended up being wrong, and that is fine, I am not going to win every game.

In conclusion, I am not going to hide, I am not going to start a new account, I am simply going to keep doing what I do and I am sure that I will be on the side of more winners then losers as I have been doing.  Sorry for not posting until now...I was out last night for dinner and had other things to take care of when I arrived at home.  I had to work all day and I am now finally free to post, so that is what took so long.

yeah but taking Dallas last night wasnt a good handicapping decision.  It was a bad one.  Dallas didnt handle Boston the whole game.  Boston played with them the entire game until crunch time.  Then the better team gave them a beat down

I guess a 15 point lead automatically means Boston was out matched?  It was a good game Boston just missed shots.....Going like 2-15 FG missing a shit load of easy wide open shots is bad will put you down 15..........Betting against the best team in the league with a good ATS record overall and on the road is NEVER a good decision

You still feel you would have won your bet if Howard didn't foul out? Yes you won your bet but bottomline is that Dallas was the right play, it just didn't work out in the end and it happens. Obviously I would of rather had Boston and win my bet, I would be stupid to say otherwise. But if you think Boston was the right pick last night you are wrong. And that is coming from a guy who has a future bet on Celtics to win it all....

Can't agree more with everyone who backed mookin. We don't want to lose insightful cappers. I enjoy reading most everyones perspective as I myself have done like the first post for Golden State last night. I can't support anyone who chastises and tries to put a lid on anyone attempting to provide insight on this forum. If all our write-ups/ handicapping had to win in the end for us to remain on covers, none of us bold cappers (those actually trying to offer some free insight to beat your man) would be left within 2 weeks. I'm sure mookin knows some people just like to argue for arguments sake and never attempt to offer insight which is largely what this blog is predicated. Am I right?

Yah don't bet against the C's on the road, bet against them at home, thats where they lose straight up.

Guys its over...I lost the bet, thats end of that....My bet looked great for a large portion of the game, but that is not what counts...I can you right now that this will not faze me...its not a big deal.
 
Regardless, everyone can say what they want, but I have made money betting on Boston, and against Boston.  BOL, but rest assured that I will be back and will win my fair share of games along the way.  Thanks for all of the support though, I went out on a limb last night and lost.
 
I will keep posting and offering me insight on certain games and everyone will see.
 
The only problem that I have is this: When I offer my insight and take the time and effort to produce a writeup with important information and analysis and people come in and just say random stuff, or say I am on the wrong side...or that Celtics are the best, how could ever bet against them....Well let me tell you that the Celts have not covered every game this year...in fact it is not even close.  The part that really sucked about the game last night was my mis-information....I was under the assumption that Allen was not going to play, which really was a factor....oh well

 i can understand being bummed out that you lead a game for like  45 mins, and then get shat on in the last 3 mins, but what did you think Boston would do ?

be happy to split their B2B road trips 1-1 , after losing to the west's 2 best teams ?

you can think you were on the right play, and you got unlucky, before the game but you musta suspected that Boston were gonna strangle Dallas defensively at some point , and that 3 min period from the 6:00 to the 3:00 in the 4th was always brewing.
i expected it, but i did bet BOST  ML to be safe.


i'm not saying i was happy with the half time score, or being down 15 midway through the 3rd, but i never gave up on Boston coming home hard, and tightening that defensive noose around Dallas' neck.

Once Boston smelt blood, Dallas were gone.

and i did present my argument BEFORE the game, so i feel entitled to a post match write up

a losing bet, is always the wrong play !

even an under bet that is 30 pts under @ full time, but goes to double OT , and goes over by 1pt, is the wrong play.

a simple way of improving your success on NBA bets

DON'T BET DALLAS or PHOENIX the rest of the year.

the problem with your bet is overall trends were about even, the Celts were tired, but you also put too much emphasis on this game and it was on tv, so you likely overbet it

no really good gamblers, at least ones who make money, bet a lot on the TV games...  the trends favored a Celtics pick anyway, so to go against that is ballsy

 

your RSI is 0, so you either are not in the weekly contest or ahve no reputation.  Mine isnt all taht great but at least im 55% ish
