Then you sit him down 1 on 1 after the season and discuss it....which I can promise you he never did.
The T-Wolves did whatever KG wanted as well....Joe Smith. Anthony Peeler.....Troy Hudson....ALL KG's moves. And he ran Wally Szcerbiak out of town. And people made fun of McHale and owner G. Taylor because they let KG run the show (and they should have gotten shit for letting him run the show).
That's what you get if you let the inmates run the asylum. And if you say, "well, that's the way you have to operate these days," that's bull shit. That's the way he CHOSE to operate. And you don't like it, either do it differently or quit bitching about it.
What is that one saying. Someone can only take advantage of you if you let them. ![]()
I100% agree that Lebron's approach was COMPLETELY unprofessional and full of douchebaggery, but for Gilbert to come out now and piss and moan tells me what a box he is.
So true about KG but in fairness Wally World really should have wised up the minute he stepped on KG's court. Wally came into the league a very cocky and arrogant baller. He was a very good pure shooter and some decent low post moves. But he tried to be the leader of the pack when everyone knew like it or not KG is the man. Moreover, I remember one game where KG and Wally were feuding all game long and KG refused to pass the ball to Wally than Wally stole the ball from KG when he was pushing the ball up court and shot a wild three.
I know the above adds credance to what you said in terms of allowing a player to run the show. But just reminded me of all those Wally and KG episodes. I always loved to hear KG try to tell the media how Wally and him were good buds off the court but they are just "warriors" on the court and sometimes their competitive juices get the best of them. Sure KG!

My initial response was just to illustrate that the Gilbert is crying like a baby.
Free agents have the right to move on to another team just like owners have the right to trade their assets (unless restricted by contract) to another team and not even alert their property with any kind of courtesy.
Could LBJ had handled that differently? Absolutely.
But everyone knew LBJ was holding this close to the vest and only a handful (according to LBJ you can count on one hand how many folks knew his decision) that he was going to Miami.
Had the Cavs known, they would of released the info to the public and their would have been no secret...no announcement....no LBJ moment.....no money raised for charity.
LBJ had the privilige to do this since he was an unrestricted free agent.
Now what Gilbert did afterwards with his tantrum - classless rant --- will not be a ringing ensorement for other players to go to Cleveland.
We all get it ----- you just lost millions of dollars on your investment --- but be a man not a ![]()

I agree LeBron should have done it in a better way but listening to Gilbert rant and rave about loyalty is funny to me. I heard someone on "The Herd" today ask the question if Buss wanted to trade cities with Gilbert you think he would still be worried about anyone in Cleveland?![]()
I understand being pissed off but for an owner to act like this speaks alot about him. He was trying to defect blame for this train wreck from himself and if anything IMO he makes LeBron look better.![]()

ugh... yes, i typed GM instead of owner... would have hoped you had a better argument... the GM is an extension of the owner...
the moves the Cavs made cannot be blamed on Lebron, even if Lebron DID insist on who to play for... a GM and an owner should know better... Lebron James does not get paid to scout talent...... that is the GMs job, and the failure to put a team around James falls solely and squarely on the GM and owner......
i agree that he should have and could have handled it all better... his action in that way were attrocious....... BUT, that does NOT make Dan Gilbert's statement excusable! that is far more attrocious (by ten fold) than Lebron being callous and cold in his departure......
there's no way anyone can defend that kind of crap! it is the lowest of the low to come out and say stuff like that only after the fact because you didn't land your man...... if Lebron picked the Cavs, Dan would be humming his praises, and it would be all lovey-dovey!
therefore, Dan's entire statement is complete bullshit, with no clout!
Youre retarded.......Gilbert and company did all this to keep James...they got James who he asked for PERIOD and for all those jumping on Gilbert for his statement, read what he said....theres more to the story here and i hope he spills the BEANS....maybe James told Gilbert he would return....i cant blame the kid for leaving really but the way he did it fucked his team and then he shit on his fans...
Go be second fiddle box![]()
FUCK Lebitch and his mom....i hope Mellow teams up with a few stars next year and keeps LBJ from winning...
