How much has this bet paid again? $0

How many people have posted their hedged bets? 0

I gotta tell ya JoePa, you're stupider than you look!

What have the Cavs proven? Are we supposed to be wowed by anything in the Eastern Conference? Like last year, what did the Heat prove before they got to the finals and got stomped?

I know you're obsessed with the Cavs winning the championship but the real challenge comes in the finals, and I've said that up and down this thread...and we know who will be waiting their for them.

And please post your overconfident series bet on the Cavs in that series.

It honestly amazes me that you are still trying to defend this thread as anything but ridiculous..

Scal, betting is like holding stock. 30-1.. yes I would love me some of that. I don't think theyll win but I'd hedge out. You're basic bro.

Scalabrine may very well be right but it is going to be because of luck and nothing else.

The thread isn't about if cavs will win the title. It's about the OP stating to throw the tickets away cause they have no value.

He said this early in the season, and now he looks stupid. With the cavs winning the East, you have an easy hedge at worst for the finals. Which makes every future holder for Cleveland, a winner.

Scal stop embarrassing yourself. Anyone who got the Cavs at 30/1 or at least 3/1 already made a profit guaranteed. So no, the tickets aren't useless or toast. Sorry man. Just admit you were wrong. It's okay to be wrong sometimes.

Love how this thread gets bumped by haters, and so many of them! Scalabrine thought (or hoped) that this thread was going to get buried so no one could ever find it again.

Congratulations to those who took futures either before or soon after LBJ switched to Cavs. I hope you enjoy that free money

    Scalabrine:
    - Tells Covers to shred Cavs futures bet as soon as season starts - Cavs about to win Championship (or offer some bettors good opportunity to hedge) - still thinks he's in the right.
    - Tells Covers to unload their bankroll on Knicks to win over 30 games this season - Knicks win 17 games - blames Melo and players getting traded for his clear loss.

Give yourself a pat on the back!

No with your other hand, find the lighter fluid and make your way over to your stove top.

Speaking of Stove Top, grab some from the cabinet above, because the books stuffed you good as the Cavs odds fell like an anvil.

You think the books are scared of those 30-1 tickets? Please. They will be fanning their face with them after you drop them on the Bellagio book floor, 30-1 or 3-1.

    Let me say this:

You lose to two teams that are completely awful at the moment AT HOME, in the Knicks (who are going through extreme growing pains and god knows when they will be able to implement the triangle effectively), and the Nuggets (who BeginnerBoy appropriately said was an automatic fade at the moment), you are not winning the championship. The Cavs should be wiping their feet on these teams while the Knicks and Nuggets use their own towels to wipe the Cavs as*.

The league is destroying these two teams right now and not one but BOTH, come in and assert their will on the mighty Cavs.

I'll put it to you straight:

    1) Although there are many new faces, the core of the Cavs that were there when LBJ arrived can only be described in one word: LOSERS.

I followed this team all last year.

This team, KYRIE included, lost AT HOME to a Laker team that had a guy playing with six fouls because they didn't have 6 healthy players.

This team got SMOKED by a Hawks team that was universally derided as tanking, all the while the Cavs (fairly embarrassing that they had a shot at the playoffs with 32 wins at that time) playoff hopes hinged in the balance.

Kyrie is a dog. He'll put up great numbers and then the grumbling and disenchantment will begin when the wins don't follow. Then his play will drop off.

Waiters? A talented troublemaker and guy who will refuse to fall in line when things go sour.

Varejao? Past his prime. Playing motivated ball for now but he only has so much left in the tank. Thompson? Will fade like a fart in the wind.

    Guys they brought in?

Miller - looks like he's done. He'll show up at some point but this is no longer a guy who plays clutch playoff basketball.

Marion - a mess right now.

    No bench.

Love - a guy who is a fantasy league dream, and that is what his playoff history looks like...complete fantasy. Has won nothing and plays matador defense. Golden State fans must be overjoyed this guy stayed out of their uniform.

LBJ - The greatest player in the world decides to spend his offseason coming home....and making commercials while losing muscle mass.

Folks, write it down right now: those tickets ARE TOAST.

If they should ever get to the finals, the representative will smoke them like a cheap joint. I'd love it to be the Spurs to have LBJ smacked up twice in two cities.

Lastly, and something everyone is overlooking with this roster: the camaraderie.

Wade was a good friend and immediately handed over the keys to the city when LBJ arrived, surrendering his team for the ultimate reward, all while still being one of the best players in the game.

Bosh knew EXACTLY what he should be and when to be it: A third wheel. Allen? Along for the ride and knew when he was needed picking up the slack when other guys were lethargic.

And now LBJ has to have similar camaraderie with Love, Kyrie, Waiters, Varejao and a guy named Tristan? PLEASE!

And remember, the Heat DID NOT even win that first year with a MUCH stronger team than this one!

You have to go all the way to cash those futures tickets. All the way as in, win the final game of the 2014-2015 season or guess how much you get:

    Absolutely nothing!

Sorry guys, this futures goose....is cooked.

And please, bump this thread in some alternate universe if they should ever win it all.

Not gonna happen folks. Save your money next time and buy a soda pop.

The irony is that the Cavs turned things around once they got Shumpert and Smith from the Knicks (not to mention Mozgov), which also affected the Knicks who were unloading to tank. Scal wrote this (and the Knicks thread) before all this went down, so I don't think his predictions apply. People need to get a life.

At the very least, you owe Tristan Thompson an apology..The guy is playing out his mind and after LeBron, has been the MVP of the Cavaliers..

How is it "accurate" when he attempted to predict the future and was flat out wrong for numerous reasons?  You come at the thrown, you best not miss.

Why would I be 'embarrassing' myself? I posted the OP at 3-1, yes I posted at 3-1 AFTER the odds dropped to prove a point: that $100 30-1 bettors would let it ride and ultimately collect nothing.

And even if they do hedge, how much is it for? Double their bet? Triple? Wow! Triple!!! Alert Vegas on paying out that motherload.

No one is 'wrong' here. Did you seriously think I thought the Cavs couldn't make the playoffs and the finals and even the ECF? The east is and always has been incredibly weak. The Nets made the finals 2 years straight with 1 star PG and complimentary players. I said the Cavs could in my own words all throughout the thread, which you didn't read.

Now if you read it and understand it is far more than a 'bash the Cavs thread'.

And until they win it all, and until I see that tsunami of posted hedges (where REAL money is made, Ya know, something significant) than I ask, what was all the hoopla about 30-1???

It will pay as much as any other future in the end: $0 (with a few stragglers hedging and getting a smal profit...and small profits are what everyone on here make every night. So again, why the salivating over 30-1 if it doesn't cash in the end)???

Who told anyone to unload their bankroll???? I said it was a bet...Ya know a flat bet like the dozens of others during the year...

Kid, you don't know up from down or down from up and worse, no one wants you here and you don't even know it.

    Rangers over Caps at +150???

Conveniently leave out 5 straight winners in the past 5 with write-ups you couldn't provide in 20 lifetimes. Yeah leave those out while you get rich off those picks and bash the loser which will come to god himself if he bet.

Well BB, teams go through various evolutions (be it pickups or injuries) during a season making these season long bets almost a completely different bet in the end. But God forbid posters here even recognize even a morsel of that.

And as you noted, if the knicks literally didn't GIVE the Cavs Jr and Shumpert, and then the Nuggets GIVE the Cavs a competent center for what is effectively two second rounders(he's another ex knick by the way) does anyone think the Cavs are rolling like this, even with love healthy??? Please.

In the meantime, the east being the east has showed the Cavs have proven very little and like the Heat last year, will bow to their WC opponent, and we all know who that will be.
