Records you have worn out.

Or for those that do not remember vinyl records CD's that you have played so many times the laser starts to burn a hole into it. For me here are a few that I spent hours upon hours listening to. There are many others these are the ones that come to mind at this time.

Sticky Fingers, The Rolling Stones (I must have listen to Can't You Hear Me Knocking 1,000 times)

Breakfast in America, Supertramp (Was sick in early 20's with the German Measles this album got me through the 105 degree fever)

Damn the Topedoes, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (One of their finest moments and a masterpiece)

Sandinista, The Clash (A three record set of brillance)

Pyromania - Def Leppard

I can remember being 13 years old in 1984 in the middle of KMart begging my parents..."I neeeeed this!"

I played it on my sister's cheap-ass Fisher Price record player and scratched it all to hell. Half year later, I was so pissed off because every song skipped I grabbed it off the player and threw it against a wall; shattering it into about 50 pieces.

Rest of my faves are tapes or CD's but I'll keep the conversation focused on vinyl.

(Which by the way, despite the recent upswing in album sales, I don't miss vinyl one bit. If your CD skips...stop banging into your
CD player!)

Oh, never mind. I see the thread also includes space for those too young to remember vinyl...

more than i can count on my fingers and toes, but i guess some just suffered the ravages of me being drunk and or high.

Never worn out a cd but had to replace a few Black Sabbath cassettes back in the day.

 Aerosmith "Rocks"

 Supertramp "Crime of the Century"

KISS "Alive"  (Cold Gin )

Hey Mugg....it's cold gin time again

So many to list.  I'll start with a couple:

Every Kiss record until they turned into the Village People with "Dynasty"

Every Led Zep record until Bonham died.

Pink Floyd "Animals" (had the 8-track)

Jimi Hendrix "Are You Experienced"

AC/DC "Highway to Hell"

more to come...

Thin Lizzy "Jailbreak"

Foghat "Fool For the City"

Rolling Stones "Some Girls"

Black Sabbath "Paranoid"

The first Van Halen album

I played the shit outta a lot of those too H-L.................wasn't a HUGE kiss fan..........but they had some fun stuff......along with a few hits.

This

I have personally had to purchase Bruce Springsteen Live In Barcelona on dvd three times now and will probably need a fourth soon.

YES!  not sure if you are aware but Paul Stanley wrote that song for Rod Stewart, but Peter Criss ended up singing it. Glad they kept it. A classic from the steallar Rock n Roll Over album. Garth Brooks did a respectable cover of it years later

AC DC   Back in Black and Let There be Rock

Being a kid in the 80's, we used walkmans and ghettoblasters,, anyways I wore a few copies of the 1st G'N'R, Back in Black, Paranoid, Led Zep 2 and the 1st Van Halen.

UFO- Stranger in the Night

Black Sabbath- Heaven and Hell

The Exploited-Punks not Dead

Great thread guys. All my picks are on vinyl :

Black Sabbath-  Masters of Reality  & Heaven and Hell

 Stones- Exile On Main Street

Allman Brothers - At Filmore East

Jimi Hendrix Experience-  Electric Ladyland   & In The West

Ramones-   It's Alive

Pink Floyd- Meddle & Atom Heart Mother

Bob Marley- Natty Dread

Kinks - Muswell Hillbillies

Violent Femmes-   1st LP

Velvet Underground - 1969

The London Howling Wolf Sessions

Hawkwind- Hall Of The Mountain Grill

Fleetwood Mac- Blues Jam In Chicago

Grateful Dead - Europe 72

Led Zeppelin- Presence

I haven't ruined any CD's surprisingly enough.  Ruined too many to count cassettes just because cassettes suck and would get eaten by the tape player or the tape would break.

Led Zeppelin IV

Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti

AC/DC Back in Black

Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon

Pink Floyd The Wall

Black Sabbath Paranoid

Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore

Arrowsmith Toys in the Attic

Jethro Tull Aqualung

Santana Abraxas

Looked through my vinyl collection add

Montrose both the vinyl and the cassette

the wild, the innocent and the e-street shuffle....the grooves don't even hold the needle anymore

The Eminem Show I don't know if they had a formula but every song was my favorite song at one point.

The first album I wore out was The Beatles White Album.  Played it over and over in my teens.  I couldn't get enough of "Helter Skelter" and "Revolution".  When my first true love dumped me in high school I tried to pick up my spirits by listening to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" for about 3 days straight.  Didn't work and the album was not very playable after that.
