Huge Beatles Fan

His first solo album Plastic Ono Band was very good. Working Class Hero,Cold Turkey,God,Well Well Well,I found Out,Isolation,Remember. The single was Instant Karma.
Very good Album. Ringo played on the Album.
Then came Imagine. after that the next decent album was his last before retiring which was Walls and Bridges.

All 3 debut solo Albums were great All Things Must Pass, McCartney and Plastic Ono Band.

you guys should check out "Gimmie Some Truth" Documentary on YouTube. It's during the Imagine docu as well.

Pauls Rockshow is another good one.
Concert for George is great. All his friends doing georges songs brings a tear to your eye.

What did you think about the Harrison doc that was out a year back or so?

Living in the material world was very good. shows a different side of him.

On this date in 1969 John Lennon officially quit the Beatles.
As soon as they put the finishing touches on Abbey Road he was quoted as saying: "I want a Divorce" Then he walked out.

The 3 remaining Beatles as well as john kept it quiet so paul, george and ringo could put the finishing touches to the album Let It Be.

check out this rare gem of a video on youtube. Rain ( rare video) lip sync of course but george seems like he is amused. maybe bc they're playing to the track and are out of tune. especially john.

Beatles.

Greatest band in the history of music, and the only band on the planet that every 6 months or so depending on my mood that I can flip flop my top five favorite albums by them.  Right now, I would go Revolver, White, Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, and Beatles 4 Sale.  Get me in a month and Abbey Road will be on top and Sgt Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour will be in the top 5.

As for solo careers, hard to say exactly who I liked the best.  I think the best work was All Things Must Pass by George, but I didn't really care for anything else by him other than the album with When We Were Fab and Mind Set on You(can't think of the name).  Overall though, oh man, it's hard to say.  McCartney had such a larger body of work than John so the sheer amount of his hits are overpowering and it would be hard to argue that John had the better career, but John's solo albums were just so powerful.  The first track on Plastic Ono Band still gives me chills as it fades away.  Double Fantasy was amazing too.  Christ, would I would do to hear a followup to that album.  McCartney had a couple great albums, my favorites being Ram and Band on the Run with Wings.  The latter has really stuck with me.  I got into the Beatles in college, and slowly after I picked up albums one by one.  Xmas of 2003 which was one of the best times of my life(Sep 2003-Novemeber 2004 the best stretch of my life), I got Revolver and Band on the Run as gifts.  Just hearing BotR and I swear it brings me back to 3am xmas eve night at my house, my roommates chilling in the living room, and me in my room high as hell listening to that album for the first time.  The opening riff alone and it's like I'm transported back to that magical night.  The next day I delved into Revolver and that didn't come out of my CD for at least 6 months.

Oh man, I can go on about the Beatles all day.

my wife saw the beatles in memphis 64 or 65,we have the ticket stub and i think $6.50 is printed on the ticket stub.everybody wanted to play memphis, home of the blues. there is a saying that the delta started at the famous peabody hotel.elvis, leon russel.ten years after, bb,muddy waters, howlin wolf,zz top, furry lewis, dylan, stones, mud boy and the neutrons......nobody like the fab 4...

i don't know if you folks ever heard of the song called "India" by john. he recorded it on a tape player. conflicting reports say that it was recorded in India. Other reports state that he recorded it in the 70's for a play that was to be called The Ballad Of John and Yoko about their lives..

Well on youtube it's under The Beatles "India Song". So i would guess the former.

check it out folks.
