Surely even a yankee homer can see the difference.

Is there history stating that a team with the highest payroll wins every year?

    Nope.

The Red Sox have a payroll of $91 million more than the Rays. Why don't they have a better record?

Because it doesn't work that way.

So when you have a payroll that is more than 4 teams COMBINED, you consider winning a single world series over the course of 9 seasons to be a great accomplishment.

Now that’s just pathetic. Funny, but still pathetic.

Look, it must be great to be a Yankee fan because you are in contention every year, congrats! But you give the Pirates 200 million to spend and the Yankees 35 million to spend let's see who's on top and who's on the bottom! Of course your team is going to be very good because you are able to spend the most money on the very best talent. Now if you want to call that greatness then more power to you! I call greatness, doing alot more with a lot less! Like the Rays are currently doing!

Uriss, when you have nothing to counter with but to make personal attacks you know you have lost the argument.

The cubs should be the 3rd best team, not first or 2nd , but 3rd best team in majors. This is based on the payroll theory.

Still 60 million less than the Yankees? How many more all-stars can you buy for 60 million?

You're lucky you have a Gina Carano avatar. I'll take it easier on you.

Obviously it's not an "accomplishment". As a Yankee fan...I expect to win every year because our team is filled with All-Stars. However...I know that it's not a realistic goal. That's not the arguement here. The arguement is that you're saying that they spend more money than the Rays, so they "should" have a better record. But you know that's far from the truth. They have a better record than any other team in baseball with lower payrolls. Like I said. What's the difference between them and the Red Sox? Cubs? Phillies? Mets? They have the better record with a huge payroll difference.

Did I win? Not sure if I got them ALL. I'm not good with these games.

However...if you go by performance and what these guys "should" be making...that's a lot more than the $71,000,000 they're working with now.

    Bartlett
    Garza
    Upton
James Shield (had arbitration and team control bought out and thus has a very inexpensive contract)
    Shoppach
    Navarro
    Balfour
    David Price
    Howell
    Aybar
    Cormier
    Niemann
Longoria (had arbitration years bought out, paid below market value)
    Choate
    Zobrist
    Sonnastine
    Joyce
    Sean Rodriguez
    Wade Davis
    Brignac
    Ekstrom
    Anderson
    Hellickson

Lets put ti this way... Every single player on the roster minus 4 players. Thats why their payroll is so low. But as a Yankee fan you continually ignore such remedial facts when you talk about team payroll and salaries.

The Red Sox have a payroll of $91 million more than the Rays. Why don't they have a better record?

Because it doesn't work that way.

Yes there is factual data. But everytime i post it you ignore it and call it frivolous

It’s not difficult to see why she was boxed before. She needs to learn how to not become so frustrated that you resort to personal attacks just because you do not know how to debate like an adult.

Well I blame the Pirates for that. I mean...they get all-star caliber players all the time and they they go into their "rebuilding" phase every 5 years. They never even attempt to give money out to star players that they bring up. All they do is try to win with what they have. Once McCutchen and Alvarez hit the free agent market, years from now, they will go back into rebuilding phase as they'll trade away those guys for more pieces.

URISS thinks it hurts me when he tells me the Orioles stink and the Yankees are so much better.

As if I had no idea bout that.

Anytime I come with facts he calls me delusional and a homer. They just self destruct and implode anytime anyone brings facts about the Yankees.
