Yankees Win..........

Yea...like Marte's $4million. Never understood that extension by Cashman. Or Park's $1.2 million.

And it's not going to get better. The Yanks will go after another top free agent in the offseason to take over for Pettitte (probably Cliff Lee). And Cano isn't going to be paid just $9 million for the rest of his career. If he keeps getting better, he'll certainly get over $20 million per. And Granderson's contract has him making more every year until it's up. So people will keep complaning but it is what it is.

But aren't all other teams smarter than the Yanks? Hence...shouldn't they have better scouts to get those better players and not make mistakes?

It's called making a comparison. I'm not saying they shouldn't be as good as they are. I'm trying to understand why people think it's a joke that the Yankees are battling for 1st with the talent the Rays have (and what these guys will be making in the future). The way I see it is that people are making it out to be as if the Yankees are supposed to be so much better than them and ragging on the Yanks more than giving credit to the Rays.

I don't exactly think it's fair to say the Yanks had the best SP in the playoffs last season? AJ was up and down all year (including the postseason) and they only ran with a 3 man rotation.

Well...this was a thread intended to Paz-Man and all other Yankee Haters. I know they didn't beat the best teams in baseball...but they're doing what they're supposed to do. Win the games against the bad teams and do what they can against the better teams. This week shall be fun.

I expect to go 4-2 at the worst in all seriousness. I heard a stat that the Mets haven't won back to back road games on the road since last June or July before sweeping the O's. And they're just really bad on the road. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Yanks sweep the Mets there. I'm nervous about Halladay though. I think Cano and Utley will be the difference makers in that one. But CC is Utley's bitch. That's a problem. But luckily...we get Kendrick and Moyer for games 2 and 3. We should be good at home.

AJ can't pitch on the road though. I don't know what it is but he's just awful on the road. Both last season and this season. I mean...look at the World Series. Pitched a gem in Game 2 but got lit up in Game 5.
