If you went by payrolls than anyone who had a bigger payroll than the Rays "should" be better than them. Payroll is meaningless. It's all about performance. 20 teams have higher payrolls than the Rays. What does that say?

Now, if the yankees could actually do something with all the players they get with that massive payroll, then I might be jealous. Now, I just find it mostly humorous.

I'm with ya. Just wanted to make a point but money is the only thing that comes up. Can't win an arguement with Yankee Haters. We can just watch the Yankees win which make them hate even more.

So the yankees have a payroll of $206,333,389.00 and you are still making excuses.

Win what? Despite having the largest payroll by a large margin they have won 1 world series in the past 9 seasons.  

Sorry man...but that's nothing but a lame excuse. They have the 3rd highest payroll in the NL. The Braves have about 50 million less than the Mets. Look whose in 1st.

Just because you have a slightly higher payroll than a team doesn’t mean you should have a better record than them. That’s silly.

However, if you have a payroll that is almost 3 times more than a team, you have no excuse.

Surely even a yankee homer can see the difference.
