It’s not difficult to see why she was boxed before. She needs to learn how to not become so frustrated that you resort to personal attacks just because you do not know how to debate like an adult.

OK. And the Cubs have 50 million more than the Cards. It's the same thing. How many more all-stars can you buy with 50 million? The difference is that Lee, Ramirez and Soriano haven't lived up to their salaries. That's the difference.

You're lucky you have a Gina Carano avatar. I'll take it easier on you.
Obviously it's not an "accomplishment". As a Yankee fan...I expect to win every year because our team is filled with All-Stars. However...I know that it's not a realistic goal. That's not the arguement here. The arguement is that you're saying that they spend more money than the Rays, so they "should" have a better record. But you know that's far from the truth. They have a better record than any other team in baseball with lower payrolls. Like I said. What's the difference between them and the Red Sox? Cubs? Phillies? Mets? They have the better record with a huge payroll difference.
So let me get this straight sparky, you don’t think a team that has a payroll almost 3 times more (2.87) than another team should have a better record?

I think I'm in 3 conversations here. I think I flip floped your initial question with the names I listed. What's the point you're trying to make? I think we're on the same page here actually. I'm saying that if the Rays' players got what they "should" be making, they'd have a high payroll too if they paid them to keep them.

I’m not saying team records should be directly related to a team’s payroll. I’m saying when you have a payroll 3 times more than another team, you should have a better record.

Win the World Series. Not make the playoffs. What was the Rays' payroll in 2008? Marlins' payroll in 03? How many times over the past decade has a Wild Card team represented their league in the World Series?

Of course not. Put Niemann, Shields, Garza, Crawford, Bartlett, Price, Longoria and Zobrist on the open market, let them get what they get, than add it up. The Rays would have a payroll over $100 million EASILY. Hey...congrats to them. They did a great job with little trades and drafting. They hit the jackpot. You put CC up against Price...and you'll get 1 hell of a pitcher's duel with a HUGE differential in salaries. Why? Simply because CC has been around longer.
I say this all the time. The Yankees can and do spend more money than any other team because they can. But that doesn't mean they're better. And if you look at a team like the Mariners or Cubs...who have a huge payrolls...but they just put the money in the wrong places. Just like the Yankees have done in the past with Pavano, Brown, Randy Johnson, Igawa etc. And it just so happened that last season...the Yankees got the right guys. But let's not forget their trades. Betemit for Swisher? That was an incredible trade. How about trading nobody special for Chad Gaudin who had 6-8 starts down the stretch and the Yankees won them all? What about the catcher that nobody heard of for Jerry Hairston Jr? He was a big player last season. And of course getting Eric Hinske. I'm just saying...the little trades they made also helped out. It's not just throwing money at players on the market.
