You make a good point. The Angels sweep was definitely more telling of the Angels peaking at the right time. The Yankees sweep didn't really tell us anything. Every bettor in the universe knew that the Yankees would beat the Twins. The sweep was just a little icing on the cake.
In all honesty, I think it really is a tossup. It just boils down to who is pitching well on a given day.
D@mn, I, for the life of me, can't give an edge to either team.
Maybe...but the Yankees' comebacks proved something. It's how their season has gone all year. 1998 was full of games where they were never out of it. Same type of work. They are NEVER out of a game. As they showed in this series and as they've shown all season long.

that yankee bullpen not looking so hot ether, hughes second gm and a row looking awful this feels like laa vs yankee series, yankees with no bullpen especially when joba joins the rotation
Hughes bends but doesn't break. And Joba isn't joining the rotation. He's been used too much to just throw him back in the rotation. He'll stay put. What was the final score of tonight's game? 4-1. Who gave up the only run? Andy Pettitte. Who drove in the RBI? The best hitter (average wise) in the majors.

What makes people believe that Angels can hit enough to stay with the yankee's? Their stars are aged. The heart of their order is not as strong as years past. They are solid up and down but i just the type of threats that will win the ALCS

I'd like to see LAA advance, but, any team with Abreu on it can not go to the WS. He will come up small when it really matters. Mark this post down...
Tell me about it. Alex has been a in the post season for years. I think A-Rod will step up to the plate this year because he doesn't want to be remembered at the who use steroids but still could not come up big in the clutch

oh like how he did with a 2out double bringing home a runner and most importantly putting a man on 3rd and himself in scoringing position to tie or take the lead, you mean like that?
i agree though throughout the season he has been preaching patients at the plate and it shows, i sometimes catch myself screaming for him to swing at the ball but that last at bat he showed me something, he wasnt as patient, he wasnt looking for that perfect pitch, nah he was aggressive and trying to hit the laces off the ball. fortunately he did.

why cuz the angels play small ball and not bombers like the yanks?
i could swear that andy and jorge are pretty old and johnny isnt far behind.
the yankees do have a threat at every at bat to hit it out of the park, luckily they dont hit it out of the park at every at bat
lets see here...
yanks scored
G1 7 runs
G2 4 runs
G3 4 runs
angels scored
G1 5runs
G2 4runs
G3 7runs
and the angels were up against better pitching
so keep drinking whatever you are drinking thats helping you think the angels have no chance.
to me this series is a coin flip, great pitching and hitting on both sides, its a matter of situational scoring that will play the part to either teams victory.
its going to be one hellava series so sit back and enjoy.
sparky i need a hug

I think this series is going to come down to which team steals a game on the road......I think that Weaver will pitch game 3 at home where he is a lot better.....Lackey, Kaz, Weaver.....Lackey could easily steal one at Yankee stadium but I would lean to the Angels having a better chance at stealing game 2 with AJ on the mound. Coin flip series....The Angels bullpen could be the Achilles heal in this one, eventhough they have gotten better as the year has progressed.

This is going to be one hell of a series and I am going to have a full head of grey hair and have no finger nails by the end of it... hopefully Johnny Damon comes thru in the ALCS because I think he is a big factor in the number 2 spot that gets our offense going even more. He did nothing really in the 3 games and this is one reason why every game was pretty close. Obviously Tex also needs to step it up, he did have the game winner the other night but these 2 certainly need to get it going for the Yanks to win this series... I think overall batting goes to Yanks... starting pitching I am going to give slight adv to Laa, Bullpen is Yanks, coaching slight to Angels, defense is near even, and running bases slight Laa, bench players I will go with the Yanks.... with that being said this series looks dead even and I cannot believe Vegas currently has Yanks -205 Laa +175... I said yesterday that the Yanks will be around -140 to -150 range and peeps on here said no way it will be that much juice... and they are double that??? I cannot wait for this series to begin.
