one last thing on yesterday's Cubs/Marlins play:

the system continued to the last (3rd) game in the series. as you know, the cubs lost that one as well.

now, the cubs' motivation was to avoid the sweep. as well, the marlins were still hot.  if this was the case heading into the game, wouldn't the better play had been the over in 5 innings?  i know it's hindsight, however i'm just trying to make a note for the future:

in the 3rd game, we are seeing the 3rd starter in the rotation, not necessarily the better pitchers.  tendency is for runs to be scored.  just a thought in favor of overs for the first 5 innings.

Thanks Semper for posted 231 and 232, new concept in wagering for me and I don't think my local even has this type of wagering but it is intriguing to say the least.  Will be following and may jump in on games from time to time.  Only fun for me.

Hey sorry Tad...We use the Series odds as a way of Oddsmakers "tipping" their hat on what kind of odds will be posted for individual games. Ex: if a team Series Odds are +155, I expect them to be the dog for each game. Kinda of a way of not being juiced on the final game by surprise.

I see your thinking as LAA is probably too crappy to sweep and St. L. Is probably unable and the dogs you are backing are not that bad.  Do you win anything if Baltimore sweeps, or would your last bet be on Angels if Baltimore wins the first two games?  To prevent the sweep?  Seems like you can probably hedge also?  Sorry if my questions are not making sense.

I hear ya now Shadow, we are not waging on a Series Price. We are betting on one team playing individual games each day til they win during a 3 game series. You follow?

Nice system, been reading the posts and applied yesterday to two teams that actually won game 1 of their series (both evenly matched).  Quick question, if you win game one, do you ever go the other way for games 2&3 to try to double your winnings on one series.

Both lost game one so what is that play today?

If I understand correctly, they back these teams just twice more.  Through their study they feel these two teams give them a chance of winning at least once in a three game when looking at pitching matchups, line ups,etc. home away, etc. Two game series is too short and four too long.  There are other series but these give them a statistical edge versus some of the others.  The concept is somewhat new for me.
