AJ, got some plays that I like and one that I love big-time, but always like to get your inputs first....
MIN@NYY o10: Perkings started the season well, allowing only 4 runs in 3 starts where he lasted for 8 innings in all of them, but since that he's been struggling. He's not lasted more than 5 and 6 innings in his last 4 where he's given up 4 and 5 runs in each outing. I can't see anything saying that he gonna bounce back tomorrow in a HR ballpark vs a team that's had great success against him. Heading into this one, the Yanks is hitting a avg of .354 of him with a .404 OBP. Especially A-Rod (4/8, 2 2B, 4 RBI, 1 BB), Cabrera (4/8, 2 RBI) and Cano (4/7, 1 BB) got a great record against him...
Up against Perkins is Pettitte whos been struggling in 2 of 3 home starts and both bad starts have been his latest two where he lasted for only 5.2 and 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs in both of them with a combind 7:5 K:BB ratio. Also he doesn't like to face the team he's up against tomorrow. The Twins got a good record against him too as their hitting an avg of .433 with a .442 OBP. Especially Mauer (.500, 1 HR, 1 BB), Harris (.462, 1 2B) and Young (.643, 2 2B, 3 RBI) have been good against him, but also Creed (.667, 2 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB) and Redmond (.667, 1 RBI, 2 BB) have had success agains him in their 3 AB + BB's..
Just can't see this one going under 10...
Pirates (+101): Ohlendorf have been a positive suprise this year with a 3.77 ERA in 7 starts and a decen 22:9 K:BB ratio. He's had only two bad outing this season (@HOU, @STL), but had a nice bounce back against the same Cards team in his latest start, allowing only 1 run (Schumaker's solo HR) in 6 innings while striking out 5 against no walks...
The Nats have had a rough weekend against the Phillies where they got sweeped in a 4-game series + loosing both games in saturdays doubble-header.. On the mound for them is a unknown guy for me, but im just not that impressed with 2.96 ERA in AA this season when hes up against a pitcher with under 1 run higher ERA, but who's been pitching in the big league...
Like the Pirates here at decent money after their come from behind win today vs a Nats team that got sweeped vs the Phils..
CWS@TOR o9.5: The White Sox have some troubbles filling up their rotation right now and have to go with Richard again who lasted only 3.1 innings in his first start this season after giving up 6 hits and 4 runs @CLE. Also, the Jays have been good against him and is hitting an avg of .324 of him with a .343 OBP and 3 HR's in 34 AB's.. On the mound for the Jays is Richmond. He had a good start, but his ERA have gone up a bit in his last two as he's given up 5 runs in both of them. He lasted 8 innings in the one @OAK (not a scarry offense tho), but in his latest one vs NYY he lasted for only 1.2 innings. He allowed 7 hits, struck out two and walked two. Five of those seven hits went for
extra-bases, including a home run by the light-hitting Brett Gardner...
ARI@FLA u8.5: Two teams without offense at the moment vs a Cy material pitcher and a pitcher with a lot of potential and who might face the right team here to get back-on-track after a rough start to the season... Not gonna write about Haren now as everyone know what he's good for and the Marlins offense struggle to produce now, but Nolasco have been more of a question mark this season..
After his 8 starts so far this season he got a 7.78 ERA (darn ugly!!), but he's now facing a team that have been struggling to figure him out. Also befor the rough outing @MIL he had something going, allowing only 3 runs in 6 innings at Coors Field... The D'Backs have been POOR vs Nolasco as they'r only hitting for an avg of .154 with a .181 OBP. The only D'Backs that's had success against Nolasco is Drew (.462 BA, 1 2B, 3 HR, 3 RBI), who got 3 of D'Backs 4 HR's of Nolasco, but he isn't "on-top-of-his-game" at the moment with a .214 BA and 2 HR in 18 games...
