In that spot...as an ump...you HAVE to be ready to punch him out. Is it just me or did it looked like he was going to call the out but then switched it to safe?

Imagine if he has a clause in his contract to get let's say 500k for a no-hitter and 1 Mil for a perfect game.
thought about this myself.........but the club would HAVE TO honor it

Can the league actually change the call.
Technically...yes. An error can be turned into a hit or vice vursa after the game. But I actually don't know in this case.

it was an awful call, but you have to think joyce feels sick to his stomach about it. i know a lot of these guys are all about making it about them, but no matter what, you don't want to be responsible for taking something like that away from a kid
He Knew what was on the line when he made that final call though.

If this isn't overturned I'd be pissed, not only if you were a Tiger fan...but a baseball fan in general. You can rescend idiot technicals in the NBA...so the commish needs to step in and do the right thing. That was a career moment, Joyce just took away from that kid. How many people in this world get to look back on their career (Whatever it may be) and say I did something PERFECT. That's a story he can tell his kids n grandkids someday...and for it to fucked up on a play that wasn't even close...is just ridiculous. I'd file every petition, grievance...anything I could if I was Detroit.

Worst face I ever saw was when he caught the ball and for just 1 second you could see the cheering/smiling/jumping about to come and that all went away with just 1 word and you could see that everything was just drained out of him.
Really gutwrenching.

DETROIT -- Armando Galarraga of the Detroit Tigers lost his bid for a perfect game Wednesday night with two outs in the ninth inning on a disputed call at first base. Replays appeared to show Cleveland hitter Jason Donald was out.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland immediately argued the call with first base umpire Jim Joyce, and was joined by several Detroit players who surrounded the ump after the Tigers beat the Indians 3-0.Galarraga (2-1) was in complete control throughout the night and on track for the third perfect game of the season.
they should have a beat down for the umpire...LOL

You can't feel sorry for him. It's like in the NBA a ref can't decide a game like that even if you know it's a foul. If it's a photo finish for a perfect game you have to give the benefit of the doubt.
He deserves to be punch in the face by Galarraga at least 27 times because thats how many batters he faced. Not 28
