St. Louis Cardinals -118 Game 2
Cincy line up was lost in the first game, striking out 15 times. You don't just find that by eating some grub inbetween games. Pallante has been so much better than we ever could have expected, and in 13IP he's allowed 1 ER. He has a sub 2 ERA over his last 5 starts, and I'd imagine we get JJ back in the line up tonight after getting game 1 off. Not a lot to like about the Reds, but the Cardinals are hanging around, keeping things exciting.
Detroit Tigers -102
I don't care that the Tigers just dropped three straight and the Pirates just took two of three from the Red Sox. This Pirate offense has nearly .100 point lower OPS vs LHP and Valdez is going for the Tigers. He's been up and down as of late, but they should feel some sense of urgency as they are now in the middle of that AL Wild Card debacle. Mlodzinski has been battered since his return to the rotation, so I have no fear that the Tiger bats can have success against him tonight.
San Diego Padres +110
The Mets are starting to hit, but they are still the Mets. McLean has been good for the Mets, but this will be this line ups second time seeing him this year, and this line up is performing vastly different than the one that was held to 1 ER on 3 hits over 6 IP. The Friars have won all 5 of Buehlers last 5 starts, and are 17-7 on the year in games he starts. Padres bats are more capable, and the bullpens are polar opposites since the deadline.
Atlanta Braves -122
Almost played the run line, but with the travel, I'll stick to money line. Martin Perez hasn't given up a run since July 27th and has only given up 3 total runs over his last 5 starts combined. The Twins are hitting anything right now, even though Buxton is back. They just don't have any fire power. Certainly not the same firepower the Braves contain. Plus, Ober hasn't been good at all, and the Twins bullpen stinks.
Colorado Rockies +235
Taking a shot here vs a Dodger team that can't seem to figure things out. Sugano has been better than good as of late, and this will only be Snells 3rd start of the season. He looked very good in his last start, but the Royals are making lot of people look good. The Rockies prefer RHP, but they certainly don't struggle vs LHP. We don't know if Hunter Goodman will be in the line up tonight, but I'd imagine if he hasn't gone on the IL, he'll give it a go vs the reigning champs.
