This pick is all about the starting pitchers, and since it's the first start of the year we only have last year's results and 2013 spring training to go by. Jarrod Parker had a 5.40 ERA in two starts against SEA last year, and a 7.45 ERA in 5 starts this spring.
Mariners starter Iwakuma had a 4.26 ERA this spring, but 6.14 in two starts against OAK last year. All of these big numbers make me think we'll see some runs tonight, especially after both teams' bats were so quiet last night.

David Price is a true stud but the Rays have to produce runs to win this game. Orioles tend to start out strong so I'll take my chances that David Price doesn't pitch a complete game on his first start.
I think Masterson is an underrated pitcher and I think it will take time for the bats to heat up for these improved rosters. Tonight, it will be a pitcher's duel.
All the excitement of the opening game of the season is gone. I am not saying the Rangers are as good as in past years, but Astros back to Earth! Rangers struggled to get their bats moving last game, but hope to get them going against Harrell who they've had success against in the past.

i explained in an earlier post why i think dickey will throw will under the roof today.. i also think masterson will come out strong today to keep the overall total low, (why i'm not sold on the RL just in case)
i like the under in giants game because i trust bumgarner one of the best pitchers in baseball, and as for Ryu, the giants tend to struggle 1st and 2nd time around the order vs people they've never seen before.. so i don't expect scoring to come till it's too late, and bumgarner is always up for a pitchers duel
