He is currently no.443 out of 534 Major League players. That's pathetic. If you ask a guy who has been out of touch from baseball for years to look at the stats now, he would have thought Mark is a pitcher!
If I am Joe, I will definitely look to trade him as soon as I can. What a joke.

You all have one thing in common, You all lost money betting and blame one player for remarkable reasons...
I have only bet on 2 Yankees' games thus far and both were on the runline. The April 22 and 23 games. I went 1 fer 1 with a little profit.
I will give credit when credit is due, but this guy is incredibly cold for someone earning 180 million. Go check out the current hitting leaderboard.

My grandma could bat better than him! Look at his batting average! .117!! A fucking measly 7 hits out of 60! And he also has 16 strikeouts already!
For a player that is paid 180 million over 8 years, he is really a piece of garbage. This guy is just playing for money, he has no passion for the game at all. If he has, he would have signed with the Orioles when he had the chance.
Tell me, just what good is this guy? He did nothing at all in the postseason last season except for the walk off home run vs Minnesota. He should be stripped of his ring.
Even if he starts taking hormones and steroids, I am sure he is still going to bat .111. Nothing can save this guy. Worst Yankee player EVER. Can't wait for when the Yankees visit Baltimore. The fans there should throw monopoly money at his direction again. That would be priceless.

Why would anyone sign with Baltimore over signing with a team that has a chance to win a World Series? He had 180 million reasons to sign with NY, lol. Basball is unlike Basketball and Football. Where ass you can't impose your will at anytime. Too many intangibles. Basketball, Kobe can say I'm gonna score or at least get fouled and make free throws, football Moss can say throw me the ball and Im going up and getting it for 6. Chris johsnon can say give me the rock I'm goinng over the top for the 1 yard. Baseball has way too many intangibles. Albert can never say Im gonna hit an HR and do it. All he can say is I'm gonna put good wood on the ball and whatever happens, happens. Just thinks, there's over 100 games where he doenst hit an HR. Baseball is the only sport where you can have success 30 percent of the time and be considered great as a 300 hitter. Any other sport you wouldn't even have a job. What I'm trying to say is hitting is a difficult thing to do, and you can't make any basis off of 60 games, especially about a player who has a solid track record. I can assure you Tex will not average those numbers for the whole season. Didn't jeter have a horsehit start some years ago? Worse than this I believe. And if your case is that he isn't deserving of his contract, well how many athletes really are?

you obviously have never played baseball..or at least at a high level....
Don't be fooled by the avatar I am on the Tex is a great player side, but Mindframe I am going to have to have you not making stupid off-hand comments like this ... what does playing baseball have anything to do with this post? Whether you have played or not you should be able to obtain the knowledge of guys that slump and stuff .. stop bringing your irrelevant post to our discussion.

What a dumb thread. And I by dumb I mean one of the dumbest in the history of covers. And for this website, that's saying a whole hell of a lot.
He's been in the league 8 years now and his 162 game average is .287, 37 hr's, 121 rbi's, 102 runs, and 81 walks. All this while playing exceptional defense, winning a world series, and being a class act on and off the field.
There aren't many players in baseball that have produced for 8 years like he has and there's far less that produces like he does offensively while playing the kind of defense he plays
He has a slow 3 weeks which happens every year and all of a sudden he's worthless
I seriously can't believe how dumb this thread is
I guarantee you that you won't be bumping this thread in a month like you are now.

Way off topic but........who in their right mind would say Manu Ginobli is garbage? As an all-around player, he's one of the best 5 I've ever seen....seriously. That is one gifted white man.

I just got back home. Did the Orioles' fan throw monopoly money at Mark again? What creative antics do they have this time? I went to ESPN and saw that Mark is 0 for 1 with a strikeout already! Why am I not surprised?

Mark must be a damn jinx or something. Top of the 3rd, after he walked to load the bases on 1 out, A-Rod and Cano did squat. Top of the 5th, after he walked on 2 out, A-Rod struck out.
Its like, bad things happen whatever Mark Teixiera does. This guy is a damn cancer to the team.

Yep, a cancer to the team and a proud owner of a world series ring, makes sense I guess

Proud owner? More like undeserved. Let me refresh your memory. Mark did jack squat in the World Series! He was 3 for 22 in the World Series, which was a .136 batting average. He had 8 strikeouts and just 3 RBIs and 2 walks.

He was 8 for 13 which was a .615 batting average, with 3 strikeouts, 8 RBIs and 3 home-runs. And you know what? His salary at the time was 52 million over 4 years! That's about half of Mark's 180 million over 8 years contract. Talk about being overpaid.

Lets compare that to Hideki Matsui.
