As if the Red Sox didn't draw in enough gamblers as is, the fact that they have Matsuzaka returning to the mound tonight only fuels any further reasoning to take Boston tonight.
I think a lot of people are looking at this game as prime spot for Dice-K to get back into the groove of things and thus pick up some easy money. Baltimore after all has been pretty freaking horrible all season long, and with Bergesen and his spiffy 12.19ERA on the mound tonight, there may be a false sense of security among bettors that even if Matsuzaka struggles in his first outing of the season, the Red Sox will be able to provide enough run support to overcome and potential pitching stumbles.
I just think it's the type of star player angle that a lot of people fall into the trap of. Dice-K may not be a superstar, but he's a decent enough pitcher to draw interest. And when it's the Orioles... well, you know what happens.
We shall see.
