The kid is phenomenal. 9 full innings with 15 strikeouts, giving up only one hit (damn near a no-no). Over his last 8 outings, which include 54 innings of work, he&#x2019;s allowed a total of 2 runs to go along with 80 Ks. Incredible

Just for context Pedro Martinez WHIP for a whole season is what Miz is now and Garrit Cole averaged more SO per 9 innings as the highest ever for a season than Miz has now. Thats how dominant those guys were. Cole ended with a 2.50 ERA and Martines 1.74. Greinke, Maddux and Gooden did have lower ERA than martinez since the lowering of the mound but they were in the NL which is a bit different back then
