Clev and Why 10-16-26

Milw came thru yesterday evening - let's see if we can get it today.   Let's look at some numbers:

- 108  TB  Martinez         6

          Clev  Armstrong   5  

Line opened at -108 currently 106-114  at various sites.  Martinez is a starter, Last pitched against the Yankees on Oct 7.    He got a No Decision and had given up 2 runs in that game.  I give him a rating of 6.    Armstrong is starting for Clev. he's a relief pitcher but has pitched great in the post season.   With this Opening Starter business - I had to switch how I handicap games and use a different formula for calculating ratings to ensure it's apples to apples when dealing with opening starters.    In this case Armstrong is a 5.   With an opening line of 108 for the away team - I don't have any recent playoff data with that line.   However, during the season that line has appeared several times and often the home team taking it. 

I have found even with an opening starter - the teams have won games during this playoff season.    We saw that yesterday in the Dodgers game.    I don't feel as strong about this play as I did about Milw. and Clev yesterday but I think they take it.

Lol -  I just try bud.  Had a rough 2 play off games so - nothing is in stone.   You got a good angle - do what you believe.  Sometimes with an extra day off - some teams can gather themselves and get the win.   I'm just going by the numbers in front of me.      The only thing that has changed in this game from the data above is the opening line - it went from 108 to 110 madduxsports.com     Either way BOL to all
