Seems to be the best time of year for me.

Gotta love when 8 guys are scheduled to pitch for both teams and 20+ different batters get a crack....how and why the books set odds is beyond me but I'll take it

Down in Florida for the winter near the Rays spring training site and usually take in 3-4 games. Also the Braves have a  new facility and stadium a few miles away that I hope to get over to. Nothing like enjoying a game on a sunny afternoon while the folks back home are freezing their a$$es off.

If you live in Arizona (and Maricopa County) you get a lot of attention from your 
far-north-freezing-their-fools-off relatives. Suddenly it is "gosh, haven't seen you in a while, going to be down your way", blah, blah, blah.

TRADE BREAKDOWN

DODGERS GET: OF Mookie Betts, LHP David Price, cash (all from BOS)
RED SOX GET: OF Alex Verdugo (from LAD), RHP Brusdar Graterol (MLB Pipeline no. 83 prospect from Minnesota)
TWINS GET: RHP Kenta Maeda (from LAD)

Angels traded second baseman Luis Rengifo to the Dodgers for outfielder Joc Pederson.


Boston made good on their promise to reduce their salary cap and  remain under the competitive balance tax.

So who will be the winner after this deal? My intuition is that the Dodgers got punked they get Betts for 1 year and Price for 3, who is 34 and had only 22 starts last year...

Bookies already reacted to the trade, Dodgers odds went from 7 to 5.50 at Bet365, to win the WS.

Hey Key one of these days I may come out to visit you and take in the Indians-Reds spring training. I have been talking about it for years coupled with one of my trips to Las Vegas for March Madness.

Great, but you will need a rental car. The Reds/Indians home park is about 60 miles from me, maybe more! I have a cousin that far west and we only see each other about three times a year. Good ticket prices on those teams if you book early.

I've been looking at the Brewers a bit, and I just can't see them riding their bullpen as much as they did last year and having success. Under 83.5 has my eye.

have you seen their starting rotation? man, i'm not sure what these guys are thinking. it looks like teheran is their number 1 guy. their pitching is going to kill them. teheran and bundy

The fact that you resent him so much, and that now he's a beloved Ranger, he's nearly certain to kick a s s this year.

Another ex Indian that you could probably buy low on is Trevor Bauer. I think Derek Johnson will get the best out of him.

And the MLB faaaawkin did it...new rules changes for 2020 include a reliever will have to face a minimum of 3 batters.

I don't like it.

Books might as well set the average total at 9.5

I'm diggin the Rangers, D. Will look more at them and their division. Seattle will blow. Who knows with the A's, the Angels really didn't do much, and we'll see if the Stros scandal hinders them. I think they'll get tired of answering questions, and it's a thing that really won't go away all year. Cole and Miley gone, and I think Verlander starts going downhill.
