posted this in another's thread and has a lot of info

ST is not a norm game as managers have a chance to try out various players in different roles and this is their only time to do things they normally would not do in a seasonal game so this opens up all types of trials and that is whatST is all about
Find the streaking win teams hitting the ball and you will have a winner that day as well as fading teams not hitting

I can Guarantee they will be there,as i have the past 4 years for back up
    _____________________________________________
Just monitor the runs scored vs runs allowed and your eyes will light up over differences as days follow during spring training,Forget the Starters and who follows as its all about who is hitting and who isn't

Texas scored 199 runs last year in ST but allowed 130 The best of all AL teams but only won 12 games and lost 12 games

Royals on other hand scored 183 runs and allowed just 96 and won 21 games and lost just 3 games

there's money to be made in ST but you must follow teams that are HOT
    _________________________________________________
Make your self a spread sheet of all teams and keep a record of scores and after a week review totals and W//L's and see where your at and follow it thru for ST complete and i can guarantee your gonna wish season was just starting rather than stopping
but you will have the necessary info for 2015

Royals on other hand scored 183 runs and allowed just 96 and won 21 games and lost just 3 games

Wiser heads tell you the only thing really revealing about ST is that it tells you what kind of AAA team you are going to have. Omaha (Royals) went on to win the AAA  championship. All well and good, but like stevo1 says, true MLB power has nothing to do with ST. Bet desire and momentum, not probable end of the season standings. The better pitchers will not be playing to win. They will be focused on form, conditioning, and maybe adding a new pitch, or wrinkle to their repertoire. Unknown AA and AAA pitchers will be pitching to win, to impress the MLB club and hoping to make the rotation, or at least the roster. If you consider a club "loaded" at the AA or AAA level they are a decent bet because those are the guys pitching and hitting from the fourth inning on. It is also why some favorites look cheap, because bettors think in terms of good team versus bad team, when in reality the supposedly "bad team" has a lot more desire and guys that are trying to make the big club. BOL

Well said Key and why i love your input so much and thoughts on plays.Should be a great ST and a great time to pad our bankrolls for season
Here's some thoughts for everybody who will have the longest win streak this ST and who will have the longest loss streak ????

there will be a few as each year past has shown

Who will score the most runs and who will score the least

Who will win the most games and who will loose the most

Who will have the best ERA and who will have the worst

Can anybody match Royals 10 and 8 game win streak of 2013 or even better match Toronto's win streak of 18 games in 2012 in ST
Damnnn there were great bankroll builders

As usual Key good stuff. I agree with you with one thing I would like to add. I primarily watch Spring for the prospects but occasionally toward the end of spring training some useful observations can help at the beginning of the season. For instance in 2012 I watched Lincecum's last start and could see that something was wrong. Velocity was still down and he really seemed to be fighting himself. That was the start of his troubles and I was not caught off guard by his struggles.

I agree Tiger. The starters get down to the nitty gritty that last 1 or 2 starts before they break camp and actually try hard for a solid 5 or 6 innings just to get the competitive feeling again. Also by then most of the non MLB roster players have been sent to the minor camps to get sorted out and are no longer in the games. No more split squad or "scrimmage" type games either. From about 3-20 on you are looking at a little more serious brand of baseball.

Can't wait for this season to get started after that disasterous day yesterday in Ncaab (even 89% plays went bad)  and i normally have a 60% minimum play level but at 89% was a real shocker to lose but whats that saying <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Yeah, I looked but it ain't here yet, buddy! Relax, do not chase yesterday, just take a deep breath and let the next opportunity come when it does. If it ain't here today, take a nap, get in a round of golf, go to a movie, you know the drill.

The big.fat MLs are not as prevalent with Jays , Cubs, even maybe the Fish, (this was right from the frontal locus) , but trying to relate a tendency  here so had to be outrageous for attention

do most books offer 5 inn on ST games?

Quone the answer is NO as your lucky some games go to 9

as over the years they will call a ST game for almost any legitimate reason

Upsetting a Bee Hive in ground (Bee Attack)
    irregular weather
Most games at max are called if they should go to 10 innings which is rare
