Jones was my top play for a reason, but I was impressed with how Machida fought in round 1.

I was in the 15th row in section 306. Not the greatest seats in the world, but those were the best still available when I finally got into the system just after 10am for the fight club sale...![]()
Unfortunately, I still live in the dark ages (i.e. no smart phone) and am just seeing your post now...
Do you live in Toronto?

In person, I thought Jabouin clearly won the first round, with Watson clearly winning the 3rd round. The second round was really close, but thought Jabouin did enough before getting caught in the gullitoine near the end to secure the round. I just rewatched the fight, and still agree with my initial assessment, 29-28 Jabouin.

That was pretty impressive!!! I think that Jung just tied the fastest KO in UFC history. I still don't think that Ludwing 4 second knockout that was not timed correctlty was ever recognized as the fastest one.

The Claude Patrick play definitely did not turn out the way I was hoping...
I actually thought Ebersole won every round cleanly.
The people around me were not exactly MMA knowledgable. It was mostly university students, but they were not that abnoxious when they had too many to drink, which was a good thing.
The Philippou plays went exactly as I thought it would. It is always nice to cash in big on a juicy dog!!! ![]()

whole bar collectively yelped when Nog's arm broke!
That was a pretty gruesome looking break!!! I went to the event with my brother and also a friend who is not that MMA knowledgable. He did not really know what had happened. He thought Nog had won because he had Mir in big trouble just seconds before the snap. I had to explain it a bit to him and walk him through the replay. Once he got it, he was completely shocked as well!!!

Sick Job dude...very jealous...still talking about the Mir Finish, and the way Jones so easily pushed aside his first adversity...I know it's probably a pain in the ass, but any chance you could provide a sneak peek to your picks before 141, so we all could have a chance to debate them, haha...specifically, any chance you see Cerrone losing that fight...I don't see how it gets to the ground...what are your thoughts, and do you expect Cerrone to finish him...His complete destruction of Siver was very impressive. Thanks.
Erik

I am incredibly busy at the moment and I am not sure what I am going to be doing with UFC 141. I am going to be out of the country the week leading up to the fights and I do not think that I am going to have any internet access where I am going. Most of my heavy capping is done the week leading into the fight, finishing off with the weigh ins. I get back on the 30th so at least I will be able to watch the fights, but am not sure that I will have time to do all my research before fight time.
I still have Strikeforce to look into for this weekend, and having time to even do that might be a bit of a challenge...

You were sitting pretty much where I was looking to sit. My relatives have Leaf season tickets in that section, and I knew those seats would be awsome for MMA. However, when I logged in at 10am for the fight club sale, and tried to get seats in that section, ticketmaster took forever to find seats, and then when it did, it said that price range was sold out. I was lucky to get what I got (row 15 in 306) at that point (around 10:06am)

Very nice!!! ![]()
I think I am going to go the stubhub route the next time they are at the Air Canada Centre, especially if I do not like my options during the initial fight club sale...

The thing that worries me about Fitch is that Hendricks is almost impossible to take down, and I am not sure that that I want to be laying -300 with Fitch in what may boil down to a striking contest against an opponent who may actually be a better striker than Fitch...
Cerrone's aggressiveness style has landed himself in some bad situation where he ends up getting himself submitted, which falls right into Diaz's strengths. However, if this remains a pure standup battle, Cerrone will win...

well said, sawman.
there is absolutely no room for egos when you are gambling on sports.
all that matters is cashing tickets.
