Dont put your resume on career builder..if anything just hunt for jobs anon..if your HR director found your resume on that site or ANY it would be bad news.
Vegas isnt any better for your type of job, you gotta find the kind of jobs you like then find where they are.
I moved to PA and got a job that was in the industry and was MUCH better than FIDO was..
You are right about the industry..it really has little to do with investing and research..firms want you to sell funds, you might not even know what the contents of the mutual fund are, but if they say sell then you sell it. Even larger than sales of funds is asset collection..firms want you to bring in assets, not know the market.

This bounce really sucks..the way we get nailed and then it bounces back so fast doesnt give you a chance to even consider buying and you have to sell just as fast.
The action we are seeing is not a good sign for the market, its like a dead fish out of water, whipping all over the place before it croaks.
Another day like today, it would be time to get short/puts...

Wallstreet- I haven't seen that final proposal yet on that imaging center investment, but I am definetely glad you gave me some input...particularly with the exit strategy. In the event I needed that $15,000 or $30,000. What price can I sell at? How hard will it be to find another buyer? Haven't heard more on this yet but these are key things that need to be examined in that proposal.

It is a big deal if you cannot get OUT of the investment, you might not want to get IN at all.
I would rather buy someone elses ownership of an ongoing LLC who had a few years of P&Ls to track rather than guesswork and hoping things pan out.
You are taking quite a risk and are relying on numbers which while you might be able to think have reason to be close, but until the cash hits the account there are no guarantees.
I would also be very very very careful and meticulous on how the managment of the LLC works, if someone is getting paid a large administrative salary, or multiple salaries..how voting is determined, who calls the shots. I would want a complete breakdown of all costs and how they are derived before I invested anything...

Impossible to "trade" a short-covering rally cause the move is too quick and vicious. The move is complete before you even know what time it is.
And today was nothing more than a short-covering rally. Let's face it.
In the present environment, you have to have balls and guts to make any money trading it.....long or short.
You got to anticipate the shit before it happens. Cause if you "wait and see," then you'll wait forever, and I mean forever.
So the deal is this...and it's simple:
Confessions from many of the financial ticker symbols are about to start, and that is a goddamn, stone-cold lock if there ever was one. Some of these confessions will be non-events.....like "challenging environment going forward"------ "I thought about calling in sick for work, but didn't do it." Some will be heinous like "we are guiding lower for the next Q and FY '08 and laying off 25% of our work-force"----"I had sex about 99 times the past 2 months with my wife's sister, lied about it, and now she's pregnant, filing for divorce, and going to tell all."
So how do you make money? 'Cause that's the only thing that matters.......
You do it by getting short right fucking now.....like tomorrow.....and having the balls to be early to the party, cause prices tomorrow will be a lot higher than they're going to be once confessions start, and they're about to start.
Waiting for events is like the dog chasing its tail.
Going to be way for a while, but I am getting short S&P, C, COF, and CTX tomorrow. Not going to wait, cause I'm going to be right within the next few weeks anyway......BIG TIME.
Cheers

Considering some FSLR puts..stock up big again today, getting near its high end range cycle wise..
Plus did you see that employment contract they gave out today?? Good grief..360k base, potential for 60% bonus, 18 month severance package and equity sharing...holy hell.
Looking at the 100 puts..

In the space I think TINY is a great gamble..if things ever heat up again, they usually outperform and seem to burn LESS cash than others.
Keep in mind that they only have 2M on the books and no debt which means they are either using credit lines or you are going to get a secondary in the next quarter or two.
The problem for TINY is unless the IPO market opens up, they really cannot capture gains on their holdings..much like ICGE and SFE couldnt during the .com drop.
If you buy it, you are likely to sit on it for a while..the group has been dead for quite some time..

Check out OVTI. Huge beat. Big gainer tomorrow. Halted after hours before trading.
Disclosure: I am long OVTI and I think it will remain undervalued for awhile. Sea change to higher margin products and explosive demand. Look to go long.

Like going against CTX cause it's going to drop in price and I'll make money off its drop. Not current on the other builders. Am very comfortable shorting these low betas
Yes, get short FSLR some time today.....after the big money players run it up first. It'll take a hit in Septemeber. Don't wait and see what happens.....short it today and cash it in Septemeber. The wait and see game on this one is a futile endeavor cause once you "see," the move already happened.

Will cover all 4 in Septemeber during the many confessions that are coming. Let's face it, the money to made short-term is short, cause the broad market will get clobbered during September.
Once those 4 are covered, the profits will be put to work in CSCO, which should be a core hold for every long-term investor.
Not going to be around much except to post when it is time to cover these 4 shorts (C, COF, CTX, and SPY) and get long CSCO. Now that football season is here, that is going to take up most of my focus.
Have a great September, guys. Hope the football gambling gods are good to all of you!!!!
Cheers

Got short these all on Thursday at high noon:
Short CTX (28.42)
Short C (46.52)
Short COF (64.65)
Short SPY (146.77)

It's a bail-out package....let's face it, and we knew it was coming.
Will now have to put in some tight stops on these short positions, but still think I can weasel some change out of all 4 of 'em......but not nearly as much with the coming bail-out package.
Yeah, I got some lines of credit......I think I'm going to go to Circuit City and buy up the latest electronics, buy a new Lexus, buy some hookers in Vegas, just fucking throw money all over the roulette wheel and at the football board this weekend, put a down payment on a mansion, and then just default and ask this GDMF system to bail my sorry ass out.
......just like it's done for f....ing Merrill Lynch.
